T H A M B I

Two main reasons that made me enthusiastic to watch Thambi movie was Madhavan and Kumudam review of the movie. It's been quiet sometime I watched Madhavan on the giant screen. This week went for it and there was good turn around in theatre for the movie. When skimming through the title card the words "Thakkam and Aakam" instead of directed by, drew my attention. The movie was quiet interesting though some of the scenes were dragging and made you itchy. You can feel through out the movie on what the creator wants to convey.

Madhavan had done a decent job and you can see a different Madhavan like in his earlier movie RUN rather than the usual goody goody boy character. In JJ movie, I totally disliked him for his shabby acting and body language. But here he has stood up and delivered to his best. The body language and stunt sequence were good to speak his contribution.

What happens when you think each and everything you write is important and started applying bold, italics, and underline to each of the characters? It looks cumbersome. This is what had happened in the movie. The director wanted to emphasize each and every piece in his movie and it's reflected in the dialogue delivery and action of Madhavan. Every dialogue when Madhavan speaks sees the camera and says loud...Naan seyuven, naan pannuven. If this could have reduced then it would have been better than the current form. The director had made a good attempt to provide a good message and had done it quiet decently.

Vidhyasagar, the music director had done a good job. I heard the songs for the first time and almost most of the numbers were tapping. The songs were good and weren't causing the jarring effect.

Vadivel, Manivannan come, go in the screen. The presence or usage of these personalities weren't justified. They are 1 among the 100 side characters. Pooja looks pretty and had done adequate to her character. The flash back sequence was screen played well and good to justify the lateral character portrayal of Madhavan. Over all it's a good movie to watch leisurely!

Good thing I like about this movie is started and ended with great people's quotes. Start with Mao and end with Che.

The blasting dialogue of the movie(which i think), inspector enquires "nee enda mathavangala maadhiri odi pogala", madhavan replies "manidhabimaanam". Now it comes, the inspector says "nee enna communista?"

The quote of che "if you are the one who opposing the misbehavor of the society, you are my friend" (the translation might not be parallel with what has been said).

Bharathi, are you a communist?!?!?!?!
