Monster House & Miami Vice

[Courtesy: imdb.com;Click snap for a blow up]

After a usual Friday, decided as usual to go for a movie at night. Along with friends went to Monster House in a 3D effect theatre. Wow! It was a great experience to watch the movie in 3D. I was really excited to watch the movie in this type of effect. Both the movie and the effects were amazing. I enjoyed every bit of the movie and the effect added the right mix to the animated movie.

D.J was the hero and the movie was about a haunted house. The animated character which took away everybody’s smile was chowder. He cracks funny dialogues and body movements. The moment I see him on the screen, started smiling and at times LOL:-) It was a well animated and scripted movie. The length of the movie wasn't big and was over by 90 minutes. So, we all came around by 10.50 pm to drive back. But suddenly one of them asked what are we going to do going back, there is one more movie to be showed in next five minutes, can we go for it?

This is called in Tamil as சு...கொ... We went back again to watch back to back movies. The next movie was Miami Vice. I wasn't aware of anything about the movie. But went just because it was a action movie and also in the above still from a long distance the guy in white background with coolers looked like thalaiver. But all came to end after sometime. The movie started with a storyline of underground guys and detectives. But slowly it dragged, dragged, dragged...Shucks, I was feeling what a mistake we did?

Except few action sequences and the climax, nothing was good. They come and go to get the belief of the cocaine smugglers that they are also smugglers. Then try to go the top level to catch him. It was similar to Kamalhasan Vikram movie with extraordinary build up. The way the hero walks was stylish and can be used for promos. Alas, the movie ended. Came out running and thanked to us that we did not go to this movie first. At least we saw one good movie.

THE RECRUIT

[Courtesy: imdb.com;Click snap for a blow up]

"NOTHING IS WHAT IT SEEMS" is the slogan for the movie THE RECRUIT. One more is “EVERYTHING IS A TEST”. It is a movie about a college guy selected and trained in the camp of CIA. The movie has thrilling plots which make the audience to be on their toes.

Personally, I was really charged after watching the movie. I couldn’t turn aside from the screen till the end. Each sequence was interesting and nail biting. Once again Al Pacino as Walter Burke occupies the movie completely. I am becoming a big time fan to this guy. The body language speaks for the character and the way he does as if its happening but "NOTHING IS WHAT IT SEEMS".

The hero Colin Farrell as James Douglas Clayton is enthusiastic and good to watch. Few places he would have done extremely well and some techie stuff surprises you. In a scene, the hero tries to hack the password of a system. I was blinking what is he going to do, but he started writing code in programming language in a high speed within a box where you can enter the password. Wow! Might be its not reality, but thought for a moment what am I doing ?!?!

The chasing sequences and the fast paced action of the hero add value to the movie. All other cast has done well and performs to what is needed. It was really a movie not to be missed. I like it the way...BTW am I writing about the movie? Nope! "NOTHING IS WHAT IT SEEMS"

Lady in the Water

[Courtesy: Wikipedia;Click snap for a blow up]

Manoj Night Shyamalan the Indian ace in direction of Hollywood movies is the captain of the movie Lady in the Water. Actually, I went out for Monster House but since the show timing was missed, half mindedly entered to watch this movie. The movie is a science fiction and dictates the whole story with an old bed time story. The play initially was really stretchy and found my self itchy. After some time you get the grip of it and was interesting to watch. The background score and the movie coupled well with each other and was some time breaking you. The sudden twists and the alien creature makes you bit frightened.

The whole movie was taken in an apartment set and I believe that the cost of making would be low. Few places Manoj could have taken care. Each time inside the apartment when somebody speaks the mike kept for live recording sneaks into the screen and it’s more visible. From a good director, these simple flaws have to be taken out as the movie is released all over the world. Apart from it the initial slow pace and kind of dramatical play, makes the audience bit bored. But the later part looked promising and surprises with its sequences.

Manoj himself has taken a role as Vick Ran and up on the screen. But he doesn't have much work. The main character was Paul Giamatti as Cleveland Heep and has extremely performed well. Few other comical characters make you to enjoy the movie. But it doesn’t drift from the main subject which happens in Tamil movies. It’s a good fantasy movie to watch which was shot within a single apartment set. Still makes an impact on the show.

Bachelors Brave Attempt !!

[Courtesy: Narsidude; Click snap for a blow up]

Cooking, vessel cleaning and ironing are the most irritating jobs for a bachelor in US of (A). We bachelors tend to move away from these works. But to survive, cooking has to be done at any ways & means. Today, one of my room mate cooked smashed potatoes as subji. I went for just looking into and said a sentence as “this would be good for Poori than for rice”. Immediately the other room mate joined the club and all were geared up for the Poori project:-) This project is a massive investment of time, effort at the cost of our dinner. Any where any thing screws, it ends up as a loss for us. But finally we all came out with a smile on our face and felt we missed the champagne bottle for showering the victory. Wow! It was a delight to have such good dinner and when we all were about to forget the shape of Poori, it came in at right time ;-)

What's Happening?

Few months back I was talking to a friend about the information ban in China. I was very proud in saying our country in India doesn’t do any such things and preserves the individual rights. But was really surprised today to read that most of the ISPs in India are been advised to block *.blogspot, geocities and typepad blogs. It’s kind of feeling I get that this shouldn’t happen in India. Since, India is well established as a democratic country and upholds the right to speech\write. Most of the external collaborations have tremendous faith and glad on our rules.

If any such said as abuse of blog to vulnerable the country, it could have been done openly and every Indian definitely would come forward to block his own site to save the nation from any kind of attack. But this kind of said confidentiality creates more chaos and havoc with the people. The point for which it was done get diversified. Hope that everything would be settled down fast and it stands out again to prove the world as a true democratic country.

Movies This Week

[Courtesy: horror, newstodaynet; Click snap for a blow up]

It was thoroughly enjoyable weekend watching three movies of different genres. I was satisfied for this week hunger for watching movies.

Final Destination: I would top the list in the three movies. It was kind of movie where it makes you move to edge of your seat for each of the sequence. The movie is real fantastic one and well screen played. We would have seen in our dadha type movie, on how they plot a sketch to murder some one. In this movie they show how death plots sketch on the persons who escape from the pre-plotted massive killing sketch of itself. A fascinating movie to watch. Every sequence on the various plots is realistic and you can’t take away your eyes from them. It was an enjoyable horror movie to watch.

Insider: The next is Insider starring Al pacino and Russell. I was very much attracted to Al pacino after watching God Father. Here he has done a different role. It’s about a normal man under extraordinary pressure. It’s about the struggle between a business giant and a common man. Al pacino does a role of journalist and who gets into trouble helping the other man. The play was gratifying and makes you to feel to know what’s going to happen. But there is bit slowness in the screen play which sometimes makes you to drift away. But still Al pacino and the story holds you on till its curtain raiser.

Imsai Arasan 23am Pulikesi: The moment I was in the mid of the movie I felt it was very similar to "Enga Veetu Pillai". Where our Vadhyar would do the dual and one would be a coward and another would be strong\clever. The same here but instead of coward he has been shown for his foolishness. But definitely it is a good entertainer to watch and come out with a relax mind. Vadivelu is remarkable in his body language and dialogue delivery. All other cast had done a neat job. But pulikesi stands in our mind at the end of the movie. The director attempt to make this historical movie is appreciable and also to diverge from the routine stereo type of tamil movies.

Disgusting :-(

Recently I have posted two forwards as Cool Stuff's!! Right down, the below post. In it there is a funny picture on the expansion of the algebraic formula. I posted them and forgot about it. Next day, I was glimpsing over the new updates of idlyvadai and read the Modern algebra post. I was stunned for a moment, since he has claimed that the funny expansion was written by him during his school days and found in his old mathematics notebook. Shucks!! Also when I saw the picture he has cleverly cut the original displayed name in the picture to make it his own formula.

A blogger, who was appreciated for his updates on elections, writing and owning something which he isn't the owner, makes me to laugh at his childish behavior. In the event of making blog popular and writing events which did not happen makes me to say "Avarum oru satharana arasiyal vadhi thaan".

After writing a comment on the above in his post and asking his intentions, my comment wasn’t approved to publish. So thought I could use my space for it.

Original Picture here
Customized as Idlyvadai's here

Can this be classified as rogue blogging or plagiarism or what...?

Narsidude podcast go Live !!

It was my first attempt to podcast and was excited to do. I tried first using Audacity to make an mp3 file and then uploaded to a file server to use it in RSS. After writing an RSS, I validated it using a RSS validator. But I failed miserably with 14 errors. I thought some syntactical errors and rewrote the whole thing again with the help of web references. Again this time it was 18 errors, shoot it man!! I left it there.

With a ray of hope started searching my known blogs who has done a podcast already. Found the first podcast of lazygeek and the method sounded to me simple. So without thinking too much headed on towards the audioblogger. Hurray!!! Without much sweat landed here of going live :-)

this is an audio post - click to play

Cool Stuff's !

As all, I do get many forwards. In the recent one from one my colleagues the below two were interesting.
The expansion of the algebra formula was a funny one and this is what is thinking out of the box :-)
The next one shows the strengths’ of our Country.

Just Like That!

[Courtesy: nilashop.com]
One of my friends was insisting for past 2 weeks to watch Cho's Mohammad Bin Thuglak. He gave me the CD & told you will like it and bet for it. I wasn't sure and also not inclined to watch it. Just because he was favoring the movie and insisting me, I decided to watch it this weekend. I have a good feel on Cho's thought about politics and a big time fan when he speaks for an interview or a discussion. He smashes the opponent and tells with a confidence this is what the current politics and I like his way. Might be few times he would have slipped but still he impressed me in the way he talks strongly and the clarity of thought he has got in the political arena.

When the movie ended I just had one thing to say about him "WHAT A CLEAR AND FORETHOUGHT ON POLITICS". Wow! It was amazing to watch with the current political happenings in the mind. I believe, the movie had been released in early 1970 and in those early days the movie speaks about today’s politics. I liked the way he gets on to as prime minister and handles each of the cabinet meetings. It exactly resembles today’s politics and alas even more which are going to come in future. It’s an excellent movie to watch and want to give a loud applause for the movie & the director Cho. Well Done! Thanks to my friend to pass on a nice movie.

Another movie which I watched was Kodambakkam. The movie was good and loveable to watch for the simplicity in its screenplay. Jagan who was the director of Pudhiya geethai has directed this movie. I liked his Puthiya geethai and thought he would be yet another Perarasu. But in kodambakkam he has proved that he is different and narrated the story in a decent way. I think he has underplayed in some of the scene elucidating the troubles of a new director in kollywood. But he has done good amount of neat work and the movie is good to watch.
