Finally Woke Up

When I started typing this India won the 5th ODI against England flamboyantly leading the series as 5-0. I have been sneezing a lot as this blog has dust covered all over it :-) Between the previous updates and today there have been numerous changes around the world. Obama won the US elections, Global economy is having a major heart attack and operation is being done by various economic doctors, Chandrayan was launched by ISRO successfully, the banks & financial institutions are undergoing a bad turmoil, I shifted to Bangalore, this blog completed its fourth anniversary and so on. Nothing is constant except change, a perfect statement.

Gautham finally completed Vaaranam Ayiram. The operation was a success but the patient died. Except Surya and Harris everyone dissolved like salt in water. Now that Harris is gone out of Gautham company, crossing fingers on his next venture. I am waiting for the long long due Kandasamy and Naan Kaduvul as I think the period will change completely before they get released and will look like Subramanyapuram.

BTW my patience level has increased so much and thanks to the most frustrating Bangalore traffic. No comments, no cribbing and enjoying it in a very optimistic way. Why? that’s all I can do about it!

One Night @ the Call Center

[Courtesy: Amazon]

After years had a chance to visit Landmark at Nungabakkam-Chennai, somehow felt few similarities with Barnes and Noble stores. My intention of going to Landmark was different but got disturbed after seeing the clouds of books. Took few English and Tamil books for my office travel :) One of them was "One Night @ the Call Center" written by Chetan Bhagat and started reading it right next day keeping aside the half completed "Small is the New Big". The story was OK OK type and you will feel at the end why things are bragged. We have seen movies where for a good climax the whole screen play would be dragged to fit in and one such recent example is Kuselan. "One Night @ the Call Center" had a good start then the usual masala/routine additions and ended with puzzled climax confusing us to think whether this book is of true story or fiction or mixture. I can see a pattern in the story line with "Five Point Someone" and "One Night @ the Call Center". I have got "The Three Mistakes of My Life" as well and if the same formula matches then that will be my end to read Chetan Bhagat books. In Tamil if you ask me I will describe his novels like this "Hero oruthan irupane, Avan ethavathu pannanum aana ennanu theriyama irupane, Avan oru ponna love pannuvane, antha ponnu kitta konjam deepa povane, apurum pirinchiruvane, aprum avannuku Rajini padthula vara madhiri sudena heroism varume, aprum ellam subhame, lovera kai pidipane...". There were few titters which you experience in "Five Point Someone" but here I didn't a penny. The speech of "G" is like a self help book notes and nothing much. Mr.Chetta if "The Three Mistakes of My Life" is similar then I will say Tata to you!

Maam Egam Saranam Vraja!

"This is the song... Naaku Muukka..." when played in the cheapest speaker at 5.00 am, you will get up with wide eyes even though you are in your deepest sleep. I was trying to figure out the scene around me, the bus stand looked at me as if a person had stepped into a place after many years and searching for his flash back. Yeah! Old memories of Kumbakonam. The place where I was a frequent visitor when I was studying my post graduation in a nearby college. Those days and still, there are no frequent flyer points else I would have earned to a level where I could have en-cashed to a flat LCD TV. The place is still with their traditional values and outlook except the added number of vehicles and few changes due to modernization. Kosi.Mani the local MLA and minister stays near Kumbakonam, saw him with his convoy when he was heading to some place for giving the speech "Periyorgale, Thaimargale and Udanpirupugale...." Kumbakonam I will define as the land of network of temples. It is surrounded by all the Navagraha temples and people from all dimensions fleet in for offering their respects and prayers. Old and ancient temples are the jewels of the place. I always stay in a calm mood when I visit such place. Upiliappan stands gigantically in his resort smiling at the assorted prayers for better life, more money, good health, career, prospects and so on....I don't know to explain but when I stay close and see him your mind loosens up. When admiring him, mama's come with the plates expecting optimum dakshanai, not realizing that they are with the world savior.

The Trio

1. I would name the book "Five point someone" as "The Trio" rather. Due to the meager travel according to US standards I do from my home to office [27 kms] or tedious travel of 27 kms within city limits according to Indian standards, I get some time to read anything and etc which I choose during my commutation. What is this etc? "Dostu bada dostu..." when played in local FM radio, I just close my eyes for sometime speaking with in as "Just relax dude". When the eyes close automatically the relaxation switches over to a small nap. In between my relaxation & nap, I found sometime to finish the book "Five point someone" written by Chetan Bhagat and gifted by my friend. It's about the days at Delhi IIT of 3 guys Hari, Alok and Ryan who were similar to the majority of students studying in any college offending the curriculum structure of the system. The difference is, the majority wouldn't have studied from beginning much and crib the system. These guys have proved successful in the same system till they joined IIT else how could they join there? The story line is simple and had always stayed within the IIT campus. It didn't peep out in each individual's personal life and was aligned to their days at the institute. Else it would have been a great source for the next mega serial in Sun TV. The caption of the book is "What not to do at IIT" and the story upholds it. Few chapters were really funny especially Hari's comments over Alok. Like the one when they plan to sneak into Hari's girl friend house on her birthday. The novel is well written, simple & plain. At many instances the author had left with a loose end, may be to continue with the part-II. Towards the end, he would conclude with their current positions after completing the IIT but with a word saying "A disaster occurred though". If part-II would be released then I will be one among to grab it.

2. At last the Dasavatharam fever was suppressed by Kuselan & Rajini's apology story. I am once again rewinding back to Dasavatharam. Being an ardent fan of Rajini always I have tried to be unfair to Kamal. But at times he wins over me with his sheer efforts & talent. Be it MMKR or Kurudhipunal or Nayagan...and now Dasavatharam. I am not going with the equations of what could have been done better. There are always better things than present and no end to debate. He had rocked with his efforts and the diversified talent he possess. Though not every inch I enjoyed overall it was a nice movie with enormous work put in. Not so easy to coordinate and sync up all the characters by the same person. It was a class treat from the class actor.

3. Parthasarathy temple lane at Triplicane, Chennai hasn't changed an inch for decades. The atmosphere is filled with the ghee & butters of course the tamarind rice smell from each mami's house. Cows and buffalos block the street causing "take diversion" for the drivers & riders. The temple stands high as usual with Messai Sarathy watching the Kali kaalam. The coffee powder aroma around compels you to take a cup of filter coffee as soon as you reach home. Mami's are busy in drawing ma-kolam when "uchavar" comes for visit around the street. Mama's exhibiting their muscular strength & thoondhi move around discussing from psycho manidhan to Kuselan. Bread bajji shops are packed with more people adding more & more cholesterol to their system. Young girls fleet into typing classes with a bunch of unruled sheets in their hand. Yet the place is lively and you would love to stay there. If only Sarathy appears and ask me where you want an apartment in Chennai though a costly offer, I would point right here perumale.

Chennai - the City

Kangal Irandal un kangal Irandal enai katti ezhuthai podhadhana...the song which impressed me from the day I landed in Chennai. Hmm...Alas I am back here. Am I happy? Am I excited? Am I comfortable? I don't know I don't know because I don't have time to think myself. You see that's the problem here, things are running so fast around you that you have time to run along with it. Chennai the place where lakhs [Not 100 thousands :-)] of people fleet in for work and various other activities haven't changed much in the base values but still you see evident added things on these values. First item I noticed in the government buses is the tickets issuing method. There is no more bunches of tickets carried by the conductor with variety of face values on it. He has this ATM kind of instrument where he punches in the amount and the ticket is printed. That was easy and a nice change. Vijay is scaring me on his Kuruvi movie posters everywhere in Chennai and looks like it was forced to be a hit. You know why... don't you.

I am seeing the best of best cell phone models here whereas still I feel U.S. is 10 years behind. You get a feel that most of the people tend to behave as if something is chasing them. Are they being chased or are they chasing something? Not sure but you will get that feel. Within city limits I don't see a penny change in terms of cleanliness and it has got worse. The thing which I crib continuously is the mad traffic. Every bank is giving out 0% interest loans for these vehicles and every dick & harry had got some vehicle adding more traffic on roads. Apart, the people have the possible negative value traffic sense with them. Yes, pathetic traffic sense and when I start my bike I remind myself whether I have a valid life insurance than my driving license. Not exaggerating but this is the true state.

I think there are at least 50+ T.V. channels newly added and every channel follows the same pattern of show list ignoring minimal level of creativity. Over re-acting casts and same revenge fundas are the most watched mega serials. Still you have to appreciate that they have tied the people and I see many rush back to watch their favorite Kolangalal or Arasi to name a few. The internet connection is neither good nor bad, somewhat you can adjust if you don't have the greediness to open multiple sites or download something big item.

Sathyam Cinemas have taken the movie experience to next level. Yes it is awesome with a heavy price to it but truly amazing. The ambience, seating, effects and all other items have been carved with perfection. But you need 1000 INR to watch a movie with 4 family members. Saravana Bhavan has reduced dosa size to idly size and charging double than before. The sambar or chutney what they give is just for smelling not for eating.

Real estate business is woofing to the sky and 80% due to the NRI software engineers sitting outside the country, coding "dim a as integer". The inflation rate has gone to 12% in the country and everything is at least 50% more price from 3 years back. The politicians haven't changed much and still think people are comedians. They do the same thing what they were doing in 1980's and I think the next change would be hitting there. Fridays at IT companies is like going to a cat walk show. You will get confused where you are for a minute on Fridays.

There are many many items I observed in this continuous changing city but this page would be then glutted all over. Hence resisting with the samples and leave it to you guys to experience yourself.

tata....

Life changes continuously and traverses through different phases due to its and our own course of action. Once again time has come to pack my bags for the return to homeland. It’s tough to adapt quickly to a whole different world after living quiet sometime in the land of opportunity. This space and time has definitely given the right exposure and knowledge which every software engineer likes to gulp. At the outset the living style and the day-to-day activities are completely different between these two worlds. I am going to miss few things definitely here and with the good memories back in mind traveling back home with hopes and starting things freshly. If again lines cross, I might drop by here. For now Good Bye US Dudes.

A Love Letter

Dear Lakshmi,

I still remember the day I met you and without any inch of hesitation, I accepted you as is. From there I have enjoyed every single moment with you and always loved to move along together. To my conscious I believe I have taken utmost care of you and whenever you weren't feeling well I have treated you with the best care I can afford. I have always fed you with hygienic food and avoided dirty places. You have shared my moods when I am happy or sad. Whenever I get down mentally, you have enhanced my mood with good music and drive. I haven't troubled you much by using you harshly and always stayed with the gentle touch. You have wonderful shape and nice at inside. I have ensured that no one touches you in crowd and when someone even come close, I took you out of that area. You have been a good friend and we had a nice relationship so far. When I realized that you might depart me soon, I was really upset. True dear! I was restless when someone started to come and snatch you from me. When someone utters minor complains about you I was defending you and never let you down. When it was confirmed that you will leave me, I started feeling the loneliness. Finally when you left me today, I just stood there to see you going far away and disappearing after sometime. I wish I would see you again sometime but not sure when and how. You have left me only one thing for me to remember and you will always stay back deep inside my memories. Oh dear! Love you and going to miss you a lot :-(

Web Services and Cloud Computing

[Courtesy: java.sun.com]

There is much attention given to Web Services and Cloud Computing after the recent launch of Amazon Web Services. The terminologies or the called technical jargons are yet to be exposed in full length and many people aren’t clear about the underlying facts. Still if you go to an Amazon employee and ask for a definition, he might stumble upon to provide a meaningful description. Since these are in their maturity phase and there is long way to go to explore in depth and create awareness.

Let’s go back to roots to understand the Web Service. Initially when the programming language was used, we define functions or procedures to reuse the set commands in our program. This function or procedure when invoked with the required parameters or supply in values they apply the series of commands within them on these supplied values and return the output to the calling code or the parent handler. Let’s say you have written the program in C or C++ language then the function written is also in the C or C++. So the function and the program are in the same language and platform. After a period several programming packages and operating systems started exposing something known as Application programming interfaces [API]. APIs are language dependent set of codes available for usage in the programs. You can invoke these API depending on the functionality and passing the set of necessary arguments.

After these there were several ways in which the reusable code were developed and consumed. Still there was a dependency on the plat form or some sort of conversion required to use these pre-written functions. When the development cycle was getting matured, Service Oriented Architectures [SOA] and Software as a Service [SaaS] concepts evolved leading into the development of Web Services. Web Service as the name implies is a service provided over a network like web. A wiki definition states Web Service as “a software system designed to support interoperable Machine to Machine interaction over a network”. You can simply consider the Web Service as set of APIs exposed over internet or some sort of network. You can invoke these Web Services by passing the required values and get back the results and the biggest break through is these are interoperable. Meaning these functions are independent from the calling platform or language. You can call a Web Service via Java or via .Net or from any programming tool/language which offer you to consume the Web Services. This is possible using the eXtensible Markup Language [XML] formats and Simple Object Access Protocols [SOAP]. Going into the background process of how it works is a whole different subject and detailing here might dilute the basics.

The Web Service expose their signature like what input it takes and what output it gives via Web Service Description Language [WSDL]. Now I know what is a Web Service and its basic operations, I want to know the list of Web Services available on the web and the Universal Description, Discover and Integration [UDDI] pitches right in there. UDDI is like yellow pages of Web Services on the web and it describes the list of Web Services available with a description of the functionality. So when I want to use a Web Service, I go to the UDDI, search for service related to my required functionality and use it in my program.

Let’s now move onto the concept of cloud computing, you can say it as a data center available outside your company or your walls and you consume the power of it for your processes. On the web it is defined as “A pool of abstracted, highly scalable, and managed compute infrastructure capable of hosting end-customer applications and billed by consumption”. It is collection of resources from computation power to applications lying outside and you can use it for your work. Opposed to the SaaS you can call as HaaS – Hardware as a Service. So all you need is a desktop with connectivity to the vendor you have tied up for cloud computing service and you are on the hook for your operations.

Both these are maturing and over a period you will see many players trying to fill in the space. Now Amazon Elastic Compute, Google Apps, Microsoft Mesh are to name from the big players in this area.

All these are the phases of widening of our technical advancements and it is going to be a joyful trip as we leap forward.

Not Sure!

Steve Antony Ballmer took charge as Microsoft CEO by Jan 2000 and the history of stock price is seen below [Cover Story given by the Business Week].

What makes me think is successful leadership is a prodigy then? When Bill Gates could elevate the company in terms of revenue why not Ballmer. I do understand the competition factor is different over the period. May be I am blunt :-(

KurKure

After seeing Ironman, I realized that there is way to go for Tamil movies in technical advancements. Stop rounding around trees and dancing in Australia. Show something new and different in an interesting way, you will get your collections and even more. Oh Yeah! People say it will work out only in urban area where "A"class audiences reside. But Anaconda dubbed in Tamil did run for good time in rural area. Think for a moment!

This particular song though a perfect "Kuthu" number excites me for some reason. Has some thought provoking lyrics too!!

Evolution of Kuruvi

Udhya: I am planning to produce a movie and if you can give me a good script, I am ready. Both my grand father and father are forcing me to spend as we are finding hard for a storing place to preserve the money.

Dharani: Udhya I have a wonderful and speedy script than Ghilli & Dhool. Who will be your choice as the hero?

Udhya: How about Ajith?

Dharani: Boss I don't want to give a flop show here.

Udhya: Ok then next choice would be Vijay.

Dharani: Fine, I was comfortable during Ghilli with him. The storyline is strong and will project Vijay in a different dimension.

Udhya: Dharani, since Vijay is there we don't need a story. So remove the story completely and we will keep the screenplay tight.

Vijay enters the discussion room after Udhya called him.

Vijay: Na Dharani Na, you kept only 1 scene in Ghilli for me where I jump from one terrace to another terrace. But here I want many scenes like that to boost my heroic image.

Dharani: No worries, I will even go to the extent of keeping a scene that you fall in love only when you fly in air.

Vijay: Udhya you were specifying some tight screenplay. We don't need that too as we have Trisha mam in it. So we can remove it as well.

Dharani: OK no story, no screenplay then how about music?

Udhya: Since Vijay is a good dancer if someone could hit some of the musical instruments where he has scope to his dance movements then it should work well.

Dharani: We also have two villains in the movie one is Ashish Vidhyarthi and another is Suman. We can effectively use them.

Vijay: No no, let us make them little ineffective so that they can be viewed as comedians as well as villains.

Dharani: How about Vivek as lead comedian and also accompanying you throughout the movie.

Vijay: He might over take me so better we cut him off in the first half of the movie.

Everyone agrees to the resulted script and Kuruvi emerges flamboyantly. Hurray!!

Observation

I visit Dunkin Donuts for hot lattes most of the time at various places around Chicago. One thing I did observe is most of these stores were served by Indians and specifically North Indians.

So is this a true statement?

"America runs on Dunkin while India runs Dunkin!!!"

Learnt at a cost

The issue got resolved after diagnosing at the high command, Toyota services. It was a simple fix for which I had to pass through various incompetent(s). Anyways my car did teach me a professional lesson.

"Go to right people at right time to get the right solution"

Thanks to my dear car!

Itchy Interviews

Gnayani a known journalist and a famous person for his open talks, has an on-TV interview section in Kumudam.com. He was interviewing Balakumaran who is a famous Tamil writer. In this interview he did ask few compelling questions on the thoughts of Balakumaran as a writer. But were like totally challenging his opinion as it is incorrect or conflicting. Balakumaran did manage his temper level under control but still couldn't answer clearly. He was struggling few times to present what he meant and few times was clean bold. I felt pity for him as every person has their own belief and challenging it on an interview was an uncomfortable situation. Everyone can be challenged that what they believe is incorrect even Gnayani himself can be challenged. But I believe this wasn't the reason for an interview. It is for the person being interviewed to share his ideas, thoughts and so on... But this is Gnayani style may be, which warns me not be interviewed by him in future :)

Selvaraghavan known for his different dimension films was on the TV sets for an interview. He was sheer arrogant in the discussion for his talent and as a successful director. Few items you could accept as it is common nature seen in majority of talented successful people. But few of his thoughts I couldn’t digest which depicts him as a highly self-centered person. I had different opinion about him as a person and after this I was proved wrong. I imagined him through his short stories of his experience in a weekly magazine. It portrayed him as a go-get person with deep belief in hard work. Anyways he is what he is...

Learn to say "Don't Know"

If you don't know say don't know. That’s much better than doing some crap and covering up the issue. Recently my car had an issue of vibrating when the brakes are applied. In fact I haven't driven much in recent times and thought may be its some issue in brakes. As it is an old Toyota Camry, the wear & tear is expected. When I went and gave the vehicle for diagnosis to Midas service in my area they said it is something to do with brake rotors in the front wheel and they have to cut the rotor. Also the back tires have to be replaced to fix the issue permanently. I asked them how the tires are related to the issue, as I don't see anything when I drive and only when the brakes are applied the vibration occurs. They gave me a detail explanation which wasn’t convincing. So I told them to perform the brake rotor fix and not to do the tires replacement. They did the brake fix and when I came to take my car in the evening, I realized the issue wasn’t fixed. So I asked them why it wasn’t fixed. The fantastic customer handling person told me it was because of tires. I told them to explain how that is related to this, and then the chief mechanic came for rescue. He drove for a test drive and confirmed this is not any brake or tire issue, it is something to do in the transmission of the car where the gears are getting stuck when the car comes from high speed to low speed. I was convinced with this fact but was upset with the initial diagnosis. So went back to this super customer handling guy and asked him if you would have said this in the morning I could have saved what I payed you now. He was again again repeatedly saying there was an issue in the brakes too which was fixed. I again said when the problem is somewhere why I have to fix something which was working and pay for it. He never accepted because basically he was trying to cover up for the mistake. I again told him even if you couldn’t diagnosis the right issue, you could have simply said "I don’t know" & there is nothing wrong in it and I could have gone somewhere else. But never was he ready to take what I said and finally with frustration told him Thank you for your excellent service and diagnosis. I am very sure I will not go back there again; eventually they lost a customer which is not correct for business operation. Anyways I am just a pebble for them still I am one among similar customers whom they will continue losing if they are doing this in future. Crap!

Ellai Chaamy - 1

I live here in a suburb of Chicago and move around it for shopping, office and other necessary items. I have built a boundary around this place and moving out of the boundary is rare. I always make fun that Ellai Chaamy of this suburb blocks me to move out far from him and if I go he might feel upset. Ellai Chaamy in southern parts of India is believed as savior of particular region where the people live, it’s kind of god for the village. The reason I am trying to explain here his, somehow I got into this Chicago suburb Ellai Chaamy ka funda and thought why don't I interact with him on the topics which I want to and put my open questions. This is the first post where I am going to start this communication channel with him. Hopefully I get the answers back from him for my questions before I switch over to another Ellai Chaamy :)

Chaamy, This Dejavu movie starred by Denzel Washington and directed by Tony Scott, deals with the concept of travelling back in time. The movie has racy screen play and makes the audience to continue watching without boredom. But in between it is so confusing for me when he goes back to the time before the bomb blast and tries to save the woman with whom he falls in love. He goes back after an incident occurred and trying to alter the events to avoid the bomb blast is fine. But eventually by altering it he dies, then how does he in the current time when watching the crime scene, gets a call that his finger prints are all over the place. Also how does he view the band aid and other medicines used for healing his bullet wound in the future before he actually travels back? Such kind of scenes is really confusing and kept me while guessing how it would be. I couldn't tie the knot how it could happen. Chaamy has to help me clear this as I am totally left in a maze with no exits.

Chammy, my friend gave me a link to read the review on "Om Shanthi Om" written in koonal pakkangal. Here the writer describes that the movie director has passed through the cinematic phases of life and she has tried to put together the bollywood history into a single frame. I have different view on this, just because she [Farah Khan] has seen the ups & downs in her life and closely related to bollywood, the movie shouldn't have a concrete storyline? If she wants to put the bollywood history fit in a frame and we shouldn't ask for logic then at least it should be comical. The movie can neither be classified as comical or serious. It sways back & forth and struggles to get the grip. I truly accept few scenes might be familiar to the person following the bollywood. But that alone can’t be a benchmark for the movie. The story is the hero and this one is a story at 1950 not in 2008. Chaamy you have to clarify if say Rajinikanth who has also suffered in his early years tries to take a movie with this story and arguing that he has suffered and so watch this movie, Will this make Sense??

Chaamy, in Jodi No1 Season 3 nowadays they have this silent judge theory. Meaning that one of the judges’ scores will not be revealed until the end of show where elimination is declared. I have a strong doubt that this is a planned one to decide at the end whom to eliminate. If all 3 declare their scores in the beginning then tie might occur between Jodi's and this way they could avoid by giving 1 point less to one of the Jodi whom they wish to eliminate via this silent judge. Is it all pre-planned act Chaamy?

Seri Chaamy, for now I hold here as I have asked many question on day one. I will get back to you again after sometime :)

Humming Loudly!

A foot tapping number from the movie Anjathey. It is very similar to Chitiram Pesudhadi's "Vaazha Meenukum" song. I enjoy this song thoroughly. thakita thakita...

Sila Padangal Alasal

"Romba Kadhalai Intha bhoomi kandiruku"..."Romba kadhal padangal intha Tamil cinema kandiruku..". In these lines falls the new movie Pidichiruku. The movie story is simple and an old subject, but the screenplay pushes us to wait till the end. Though we can guess what might be the next scene, it was interesting to watch. The director definitely had done good homework for the neat scripting. One of the positives of the movie can be credited to the comedy sequences and “Kanja Karupu”. "Nalla Erakureengapa pothaya" might be a repeat of Vadivelu's dialogue, still makes you to smile. The second half of the movie could have been cut short to make this movie as a more racy play.

Another movie Anjathey was a gripping thriller and arousing to watch. After "Chitram Pesuthadi" the director has bounced back with another hit. Here too the movie length could have been cut short as it runs for 3+ hrs, apart from it doesn’t bore you. A gang to kidnap children for ransom was a known storyline, but the way of storytelling was interesting to see. When I watched the movie Man on Fire with Denzel Washington on the lead, felt it was similar to Anjathey. The class was apart in the two movies and Denzel sways us with his natural acting. Anjathey and Man on fire both deals with the kidnapping of children for ransom but taken in different backdrops. Both were fascinating and Anjathey though being a local version was good with what best it can.

The above two paragraph if written by another blogger will have different perspective and style. If in this same post I publish that from various bloggers is what Vantage point movie about. A murder scene shown from different people’s angle but version of truth is one. Through each ones angle you will get few pieces of the truth and finally can be assembled as right view. When the clock was reset after each person view, you go back to point 1 of the murder scene and restart again. This was similar to the movie “Virumandi” of telling the fact from each person view. You may watch this movie as you go somewhere but not worth spending time exclusively.

Language Gene!

Sujatha.

[Courtesy: indiaglitz]

What have you done in your life is what speaks after your death. This was clearly seen in the demise of Sujatha alias Rangarajan, a legendry Tamil writer. He has been the author of many novels, short stories and had done dialogue writing and screenplay for handful of films. His voice and thoughts echoed in his writings and will persist as assets for future generations. Through his works he will stay back in our memories and his loss cannot be compensated to the Tamil world. I can't forget the slim body, with neatly ironed shirt tucked into a beltless pant and the single straight hair moving on his forehead. Few people have the grace in their face and definitely this man had with deep long vision ahead. He has achieved for what he existed and reached his peak through his unique accomplishments. His writing style is simulated by many young writers and always been a source of inspiration. His thoughts which were insightful but embedded with current trends were the specialty. A versatile writer, who had the desire to learn continuously, will be missed by us forever.

Pinathalgal

One thing I understood clearly, never take as is the opinion of others. Every review I read and heard said Bheema movie was bad and not good to watch. To my surprise I liked the movie. I am pretty sure the storyline of the movie was a combination of "Ullaasam" and "Thalabathy" with a different climax. But the short and swift conclusion of each scene was something I liked rather than dragging too much. Vikram has put his effort in shaping his body enormously so that he justifies that he can hit a group of people just like that. Prakash Raj was portrayed as a god father who questions every mistake, but the recap scenes of his early age made me to laugh. Since, he can't fit into someone who can hit many people and heroic. Also when he comments to Thalaivasal Vijay "Ivana paakum pothu enaku en chinna vayasu nayabagam varuthu", I couldn't control my giggles. Raghuvaran was wasted and I want to know who is the guy acted as Raghuvaran Son? couldn't control the irritation feel I get when I see his face. Trisha nalla azhaga irukaanga..."Run" lingusamy is dead. Mudhal Mazhai Enai song was awesome and made me to rewind couple of times.

On a side note when searching some points on wordpress, noticed something called "WYSIWYG" which is an acronym for "What You See Is What You Get". This phrase seems to be close antonym to my blog caption and I didn't keep this blog caption related to anything. This caption or the blog name came when there was nothing to think or know. When I noticed something related exists antonymally got a relishing feel.

On another side note I was going through one of the website of some forum held and came across the profile section of the so called key persons. Gosh, when reading the profiles, few things hit my mind. The profiles were written and given by the person themselves, mostly they were the same which they used to put in other places, silly points were mentioned as interested in, self appraisal was in high degree, used the place to self promote. I was thinking how I used to be fascinated of a profile appearing on web for some meeting as a key person, but now lost the charm knowing its "NO BIG DEAL".

Today's Headlines

Is recession coming? Yes, No, May be...Financial Analyst in US are running up and down in finding the answer. Any newspaper or a magazine you read one standard column or an interview would host the topic. Most persons seen talk about it at least once among them. After Shivaji the most talked item among Indians recently as whether watched or yet to be watched, recession is the successful successor. Every Indian IT company glares each day on the happenings. Why? It definitely affects them as larger part of their revenue comes from the US clients and projects. Especially IT companies who have larger financial clients are restless to know the end result. I get confused by the news and statements given by the people in the news papers. Few say it started, some say it is yet to come, others say it would be there but might not be severe. Many institutions have started already making adjustments, changes to their current work structure and projects to be defensive of the situation. As a newbie in this economy news, it’s like watching a "Vitalachariya" movie. Recession means a state where the economy is said decline. It is also said as a decline in the GDP. Next question comes what is GDP? which means Gross Domestic Product, the total market value of all final goods and services produced within a country in a given period of time. So GDP is a mathematical equation which comprises of additions and subtractions of sum of components. I get head and tail of it sometimes hmm...

After reading today's news column of some 'X' analyst was thinking on the subject and working out the laundry stuff at home. Suddenly noticed a paper [Purchase Bill] outside the glass door of the building and thought it might have slipped out from my pocket. So went out to verify it. During this course the apartment building door got locked and I was standing keyless in the Chicago beautiful weather. It was the rear side of the apartment, so I was coming back to senses to find out what next. I tried to throw snow balls with bear hands at my balcony door and then tried shouting to call my wife but no luck. Fortuitously today the climate wasn't that bad and saw the building again hoping for someone to come. It stood as a silent rock and no single movement was visible. Cursing my bad luck and recession news, slowly walked in the snow filled paseo to the front side of the apartment hoping there would be someone coming in or going out. Stood at the door for sometime to actually find out that in my apartment most don't come out during Sundays and also found earlier that rear side entrance is used by few people. But was standing still there like Padikathavan Rajinikanth after his brother's car splashes the dirty road water on him. Finally like a hero a China man came from inside and was waiting for this golden opportunity but hesitant as he might think I am some stranger trying to get an access to the building. Due to my face value :) and pity look I gave he didn’t ask me anything and with courtesy let me inside. Deeply thanked him and also decided no more recession news for today?!#$

Ramble

They could have named the movie Indralogathil Na Aazhagappan as Naragalogthil Padam Parpavargal. There is no story, no big comedy, no screen play, no logic, no pace, and no good songs; simply it’s no good movie to watch. I was dragging in the seat for the movie to finish. I wonder what the director explained during the discussions. I felt it was a sheer waste of time to watch the movie. One good thing about the movie is the massive sets which were impressive but making the producer a big hole. It’s time for Vadivelu to rethink the movies he accepts. The movie didn't even make a giggle out of the audience. Everybody was just hanging there as they have come along. I am not sure why Shreya picked up this cameo role which was insignificant. The movie can be classified as a movie which came in 1970's.

Read about Luigino F. Paulucci on giving jobs to folks with troubles. He employs people who are having criminal records and want a break in their life. It was good to hear such news as someone would like to learn from their mistakes and pursue further for good. Everyone does mistakes but when it’s get overdose they are caught by law. Giving a break to them is a good thing and he would be remembered by those people for life time.

Corporate meetings are planned and occur across the world bringing in great minds together. Also it gives the people to conglomerate with variety of people from various parts of the world. Those meetings are organized in places were infrastructure, nativity and navigation are good. Hongkong was specified as a nice place and one positive point mentioned is about the navigation around the place. It seems the sign boards and information in Hongkong has details in English enabling the foreigners to pass through without hassles. I was wondering about Ramdoss [PMK Leader] for a moment who wants everything in Tamil. I am not against it but see the outside world which is trying to be in one roof. If you don't be part of it then you are the one losing something. Hence being proactive in making the place convenient for everyone and building the infrastructure makes more business in the current trend else you would be out of the race.

Taare Zameen Par - Every child is special

Taare Zameen Par - A must watch movie for all parents to know how kids are affected by forcing them to equip for so called "Future competitive world". The movie starts with a small boy with bunny teeth catching small fishes for his home fish tank. When I started watching the movie I had no intention to continue if it bores for more than 30 minutes. But the movie didn't and it slowly, steadily spreads into you. There is no nonsense in the screenplay with cinematic scenes. It exactly communicates the message intended strongly and deeply.

Ishaan Awasthi, our hero of the movie would have had maximum a page dialogue but through his refined acting skills converses with you. Wow! He did a perfect job and suited aptly to the character. After a day still I could remember his face though I saw him for the first time. That’s the impact he has made and truly amazing stuff. Aamir Khan on the other hand has shown once again that he is not only a reputed actor but a fine director too. Every bit of the movie is well captured and the music just adds the essence needed. Every one could relate a father like Mr Awasthi, brother like Yohaan and a mother like Maya. Similar characters live among us and we could see through them.

I felt the last few scenes of the boy winning award could have avoided as it gave a normal movie effect. If the movie would have concluded when the father of the boy cries and leaves seeing Ishaan reading the notice board, it would have been more apt making the audience to think and gaze. No matter, this is a splendid movie which I saw recently and stands apart from the routine movies.

Saga of the recent trip
