Professor John Nash

[Courtesy: imdb.com;Click snap for a blow up]

I was watching the movie Bourne Supremacy for second time in DVD. I was having another DVD on my table. My roomies saw it and told to switch from the current movie and watch the other one. I then got to know about the movie and after couple of days watched it. It was really a fantastic movie which got to my stupid mind. The movie was Beautiful Mind. It was about a Nobel Prize winner for his work on Mathematics John Nash. The whole play was an awesome experience to watch the biography of such a versatile personality. I got to know a real great person and the works done by him. The movie was based on the biography book of John Nash with alterations to make the on screen interesting. Two pieces I got touched. One was the support given by his wife when he was suffering from the mental illness. The final Nobel Prize stage and the speech he delivers, Wow. He states about problems, solution and logics. Finally ending up to point his wife and says she was his logic with love and affection.

The director and virtual Nash on screen have done excellent work. Russell Crowe has done a neat job for the role he has taken. Every piece had come as just its happening\happened in reality. Every body has done a great work. Wish that such movies with interesting screen play can be done in Tamil as we had\have great minds with us. It was truly a wonderful movie to watch. Finally John Nash himself was shown on the screen to pass Russel the information that he has won the prize was a surprise pack which I knew after seeing the making of movie.

The makeup and the background score were perfect. The aging sequence of Nash was shown as natural as it can be. Also the back ground score was ease with the play going upfront. After watching I couldn't resist myself and googled on Nash to know more about him. As a movie it was lovely to watch and it was a thorough enjoyment.

(P.S:- Watched Step Up and World Trade Center. Step Up is good and pretty fast play. A different genre from the usual thriller, dishum movies. World Trade Center hmmmm...When reality is just shown as such without the spices added in it, it draaaaaaaaaaaaaaaags)

Eventually got it !!

One of the necessary components of living in USA is to know driving and a four wheeler. Decided to go for the first part of the component. The first thing to be completed is a computer test to get a Instruction permit. After getting a permit you can drive a car accompanied by a valid driver license holder of that state. You need to get license for each state.Grrrr....Then went of couple of classes to get the road feel and left hand steer. After getting enough confidence, took friends car to drive around my place as practice.

Then the day was decided for the launch of road test. When I went out there, it was crowded and sunny. The examiner was keen in watching each and every movement of mine during the test. Everything was fine except the last piece. When a cross over to left alley came, I did not turn immediately and took extra time giving right of way for the vehicles coming in the other directions. During that moment another test vehicle came behind me and started honking. This made the situation bit tensed and I became the prey of it. I was told to redo the same some other day. Alas it wasn't my day :-( I decided immediately in mind that I have to get the license within a week at any cost. It pricked my ego and did not want to give it up.

Immediately within a couple of days went again for redoing the test. This time decided that at any turn I would not wait too long and take sharp cuts. I was having in mind I will get it, if not never going to apply. Everything went well and parked the car in the slot specified. Got down and the examiner called me for a moment. He said your turns were terrible [Ayiiigaa], apart from it everything is fine. Please try to do slow in turns. That’s it "Say cheese and a click".

One more thing I used to think, on traveling out of your home land. Since you are traveling long and you need to set things right, you would be trying to be focused on what you want and execute it. As well as back home, you would to settle down the things before you start. This makes you hassle free when you return back home. For example I was there at home for so many years never applied for a four wheeler license or thought about. When the necessity comes, under pressure made it out with in a week. Like wise your accounts, documents filing...everything would be set right by you. The same you which you would be always thinking to do, but when the time comes you do everything which could have been done much earlier slowly. But fine never late, my point was when you travel long, back at home you would make it a discipline one and also here which you are forced to do due to the essentials.

The Substitute

I have seen many persons writing, discussing on wordpress. Hence I decided to open an account there. It has really cool features and I am not going to do a analysis between blogger and wordpress. Each of it has its own merits. The new would be one more backup of my current blog. I can see that the page loading is quick as well as lots of options given in for add-ins. Let me put my hands and update more on it. For now here you go narsidude :-)

Monster House & Miami Vice

[Courtesy: imdb.com;Click snap for a blow up]

After a usual Friday, decided as usual to go for a movie at night. Along with friends went to Monster House in a 3D effect theatre. Wow! It was a great experience to watch the movie in 3D. I was really excited to watch the movie in this type of effect. Both the movie and the effects were amazing. I enjoyed every bit of the movie and the effect added the right mix to the animated movie.

D.J was the hero and the movie was about a haunted house. The animated character which took away everybody’s smile was chowder. He cracks funny dialogues and body movements. The moment I see him on the screen, started smiling and at times LOL:-) It was a well animated and scripted movie. The length of the movie wasn't big and was over by 90 minutes. So, we all came around by 10.50 pm to drive back. But suddenly one of them asked what are we going to do going back, there is one more movie to be showed in next five minutes, can we go for it?

This is called in Tamil as சு...கொ... We went back again to watch back to back movies. The next movie was Miami Vice. I wasn't aware of anything about the movie. But went just because it was a action movie and also in the above still from a long distance the guy in white background with coolers looked like thalaiver. But all came to end after sometime. The movie started with a storyline of underground guys and detectives. But slowly it dragged, dragged, dragged...Shucks, I was feeling what a mistake we did?

Except few action sequences and the climax, nothing was good. They come and go to get the belief of the cocaine smugglers that they are also smugglers. Then try to go the top level to catch him. It was similar to Kamalhasan Vikram movie with extraordinary build up. The way the hero walks was stylish and can be used for promos. Alas, the movie ended. Came out running and thanked to us that we did not go to this movie first. At least we saw one good movie.

THE RECRUIT

[Courtesy: imdb.com;Click snap for a blow up]

"NOTHING IS WHAT IT SEEMS" is the slogan for the movie THE RECRUIT. One more is “EVERYTHING IS A TEST”. It is a movie about a college guy selected and trained in the camp of CIA. The movie has thrilling plots which make the audience to be on their toes.

Personally, I was really charged after watching the movie. I couldn’t turn aside from the screen till the end. Each sequence was interesting and nail biting. Once again Al Pacino as Walter Burke occupies the movie completely. I am becoming a big time fan to this guy. The body language speaks for the character and the way he does as if its happening but "NOTHING IS WHAT IT SEEMS".

The hero Colin Farrell as James Douglas Clayton is enthusiastic and good to watch. Few places he would have done extremely well and some techie stuff surprises you. In a scene, the hero tries to hack the password of a system. I was blinking what is he going to do, but he started writing code in programming language in a high speed within a box where you can enter the password. Wow! Might be its not reality, but thought for a moment what am I doing ?!?!

The chasing sequences and the fast paced action of the hero add value to the movie. All other cast has done well and performs to what is needed. It was really a movie not to be missed. I like it the way...BTW am I writing about the movie? Nope! "NOTHING IS WHAT IT SEEMS"

Lady in the Water

[Courtesy: Wikipedia;Click snap for a blow up]

Manoj Night Shyamalan the Indian ace in direction of Hollywood movies is the captain of the movie Lady in the Water. Actually, I went out for Monster House but since the show timing was missed, half mindedly entered to watch this movie. The movie is a science fiction and dictates the whole story with an old bed time story. The play initially was really stretchy and found my self itchy. After some time you get the grip of it and was interesting to watch. The background score and the movie coupled well with each other and was some time breaking you. The sudden twists and the alien creature makes you bit frightened.

The whole movie was taken in an apartment set and I believe that the cost of making would be low. Few places Manoj could have taken care. Each time inside the apartment when somebody speaks the mike kept for live recording sneaks into the screen and it’s more visible. From a good director, these simple flaws have to be taken out as the movie is released all over the world. Apart from it the initial slow pace and kind of dramatical play, makes the audience bit bored. But the later part looked promising and surprises with its sequences.

Manoj himself has taken a role as Vick Ran and up on the screen. But he doesn't have much work. The main character was Paul Giamatti as Cleveland Heep and has extremely performed well. Few other comical characters make you to enjoy the movie. But it doesn’t drift from the main subject which happens in Tamil movies. It’s a good fantasy movie to watch which was shot within a single apartment set. Still makes an impact on the show.

Bachelors Brave Attempt !!

[Courtesy: Narsidude; Click snap for a blow up]

Cooking, vessel cleaning and ironing are the most irritating jobs for a bachelor in US of (A). We bachelors tend to move away from these works. But to survive, cooking has to be done at any ways & means. Today, one of my room mate cooked smashed potatoes as subji. I went for just looking into and said a sentence as “this would be good for Poori than for rice”. Immediately the other room mate joined the club and all were geared up for the Poori project:-) This project is a massive investment of time, effort at the cost of our dinner. Any where any thing screws, it ends up as a loss for us. But finally we all came out with a smile on our face and felt we missed the champagne bottle for showering the victory. Wow! It was a delight to have such good dinner and when we all were about to forget the shape of Poori, it came in at right time ;-)

What's Happening?

Few months back I was talking to a friend about the information ban in China. I was very proud in saying our country in India doesn’t do any such things and preserves the individual rights. But was really surprised today to read that most of the ISPs in India are been advised to block *.blogspot, geocities and typepad blogs. It’s kind of feeling I get that this shouldn’t happen in India. Since, India is well established as a democratic country and upholds the right to speech\write. Most of the external collaborations have tremendous faith and glad on our rules.

If any such said as abuse of blog to vulnerable the country, it could have been done openly and every Indian definitely would come forward to block his own site to save the nation from any kind of attack. But this kind of said confidentiality creates more chaos and havoc with the people. The point for which it was done get diversified. Hope that everything would be settled down fast and it stands out again to prove the world as a true democratic country.

Movies This Week

[Courtesy: horror, newstodaynet; Click snap for a blow up]

It was thoroughly enjoyable weekend watching three movies of different genres. I was satisfied for this week hunger for watching movies.

Final Destination: I would top the list in the three movies. It was kind of movie where it makes you move to edge of your seat for each of the sequence. The movie is real fantastic one and well screen played. We would have seen in our dadha type movie, on how they plot a sketch to murder some one. In this movie they show how death plots sketch on the persons who escape from the pre-plotted massive killing sketch of itself. A fascinating movie to watch. Every sequence on the various plots is realistic and you can’t take away your eyes from them. It was an enjoyable horror movie to watch.

Insider: The next is Insider starring Al pacino and Russell. I was very much attracted to Al pacino after watching God Father. Here he has done a different role. It’s about a normal man under extraordinary pressure. It’s about the struggle between a business giant and a common man. Al pacino does a role of journalist and who gets into trouble helping the other man. The play was gratifying and makes you to feel to know what’s going to happen. But there is bit slowness in the screen play which sometimes makes you to drift away. But still Al pacino and the story holds you on till its curtain raiser.

Imsai Arasan 23am Pulikesi: The moment I was in the mid of the movie I felt it was very similar to "Enga Veetu Pillai". Where our Vadhyar would do the dual and one would be a coward and another would be strong\clever. The same here but instead of coward he has been shown for his foolishness. But definitely it is a good entertainer to watch and come out with a relax mind. Vadivelu is remarkable in his body language and dialogue delivery. All other cast had done a neat job. But pulikesi stands in our mind at the end of the movie. The director attempt to make this historical movie is appreciable and also to diverge from the routine stereo type of tamil movies.

Disgusting :-(

Recently I have posted two forwards as Cool Stuff's!! Right down, the below post. In it there is a funny picture on the expansion of the algebraic formula. I posted them and forgot about it. Next day, I was glimpsing over the new updates of idlyvadai and read the Modern algebra post. I was stunned for a moment, since he has claimed that the funny expansion was written by him during his school days and found in his old mathematics notebook. Shucks!! Also when I saw the picture he has cleverly cut the original displayed name in the picture to make it his own formula.

A blogger, who was appreciated for his updates on elections, writing and owning something which he isn't the owner, makes me to laugh at his childish behavior. In the event of making blog popular and writing events which did not happen makes me to say "Avarum oru satharana arasiyal vadhi thaan".

After writing a comment on the above in his post and asking his intentions, my comment wasn’t approved to publish. So thought I could use my space for it.

Original Picture here
Customized as Idlyvadai's here

Can this be classified as rogue blogging or plagiarism or what...?

Narsidude podcast go Live !!

It was my first attempt to podcast and was excited to do. I tried first using Audacity to make an mp3 file and then uploaded to a file server to use it in RSS. After writing an RSS, I validated it using a RSS validator. But I failed miserably with 14 errors. I thought some syntactical errors and rewrote the whole thing again with the help of web references. Again this time it was 18 errors, shoot it man!! I left it there.

With a ray of hope started searching my known blogs who has done a podcast already. Found the first podcast of lazygeek and the method sounded to me simple. So without thinking too much headed on towards the audioblogger. Hurray!!! Without much sweat landed here of going live :-)

this is an audio post - click to play

Cool Stuff's !

As all, I do get many forwards. In the recent one from one my colleagues the below two were interesting.
The expansion of the algebra formula was a funny one and this is what is thinking out of the box :-)
The next one shows the strengths’ of our Country.

Just Like That!

[Courtesy: nilashop.com]
One of my friends was insisting for past 2 weeks to watch Cho's Mohammad Bin Thuglak. He gave me the CD & told you will like it and bet for it. I wasn't sure and also not inclined to watch it. Just because he was favoring the movie and insisting me, I decided to watch it this weekend. I have a good feel on Cho's thought about politics and a big time fan when he speaks for an interview or a discussion. He smashes the opponent and tells with a confidence this is what the current politics and I like his way. Might be few times he would have slipped but still he impressed me in the way he talks strongly and the clarity of thought he has got in the political arena.

When the movie ended I just had one thing to say about him "WHAT A CLEAR AND FORETHOUGHT ON POLITICS". Wow! It was amazing to watch with the current political happenings in the mind. I believe, the movie had been released in early 1970 and in those early days the movie speaks about today’s politics. I liked the way he gets on to as prime minister and handles each of the cabinet meetings. It exactly resembles today’s politics and alas even more which are going to come in future. It’s an excellent movie to watch and want to give a loud applause for the movie & the director Cho. Well Done! Thanks to my friend to pass on a nice movie.

Another movie which I watched was Kodambakkam. The movie was good and loveable to watch for the simplicity in its screenplay. Jagan who was the director of Pudhiya geethai has directed this movie. I liked his Puthiya geethai and thought he would be yet another Perarasu. But in kodambakkam he has proved that he is different and narrated the story in a decent way. I think he has underplayed in some of the scene elucidating the troubles of a new director in kollywood. But he has done good amount of neat work and the movie is good to watch.

Correlation !

[Courtesy: mtv.com & indiaglitz.com]

This weekend I was entertaining myself with two movies. One is Click and the other is Pudupettai. According to my perception, there exists a relation between the themes of the movie. The bottom line of the two movies is what are lost in the event of urge to become a big shot in society. Both try to emphasize "Growing to a position at what cost?"

Click is a techy kind of movie where the director Frank Coraci tries to explain his thoughts with a fiction play. On the other hand in Pudupettai, Selvaraghavan tries to explain with a realistic play. Obviously both the movies aren't to compare but the theme taken by them were similar to my perception. Both are totally different geographically, culturally and the scope of play. Both of the directors have tried to visualize their story with slight hiccups at some places. But as a movie buff you would like to enjoy the movies. Nothing big different from earlier movies we have seen but still both the movies make you to watch the full length.

Adam Sandler as Michael Newman and Dhanush as 'Kokki' Kumar have done remarkably well and can add the movie to their good performance list. In few scenes Sandler definitely makes you feel very pity and gets into you, in the emotional situations. Dhanush might not be acceptable in the fight sequences, still as a character he is adorable to watch. Dhanush has really tried to do his best and as always done well under his brothers' direction.

All the other characters [actors] had given their firm support to provide the right mix in the movies. Yuvan Shankar has done good music but not to his best. In the earlier movies of Selvaraghavan, Yuvan had performed his class but in Pudupettai the music doesn't gets deep. The climax of Pudupettai could have been done in much better way. Might be the director was under the pressure to release the movie as it was lagging behind its scheduled release.

Both the characters in the two movies have resemblances in today's youngsters. It is for them to know what is lost in trying to get what they want in short span.

The Communicator

[Snap: Samsung.com]

Attire, time wristlets, shoes, purses, belts, bike acre few of the passionate items from early days. Later the Mobile phone got a firm place in the above list. First time I got Nokia 3210 as a gift and I still remember in that late night I roamed in the streets of Triplicane to get it activated. It’s a kind of memorable one which I was long lasting from my college days. After few months, I switched over to Nokia 6610 which I am having till now back in India. The great feature of 6610 was to play FM radio. I used to ride my bike for long distance from home to office, initial days was very sucking and used crib about the long ride. But later when I started using the 6610 model, I started enjoying the long biky. I used to continuously switch over to different channels using the hands free during the ride. That too when I place the helmet over my head phones, its like hearing music in a closed room. I just can't forget it; I feel like the whole world is for me and just zip around. Heavy traffic, late night what ever it is, I used to hear the music using the phone and damn care about the surroundings.

The sleek model and the black panel added more attraction. I was very much happy with what I had. Later days when my friends got camera phone and latest model, I was very much content with the model and never let it out from me.

Now after coming to Chicago, contact mode is one of the important aspects. Due to which I was looking out for a mobile. One of my friends caught hold of the deal with T-mobile and got the Samsung T-809 model. The moment I got the shipped parcel, I was gazing at this device. The phone is a sliding phone and has most of the good features. I am a new entrant to use Blue tooth which during my college days used to think as if it is some advanced automobile technology. The look of the model just amazes me and I always carry it as I have got something very precious for me. May me this lust ends after seeing something more good. But still this one can’t be forgotten. You can take a photo\video, copy songs, files & photos and listen to your favorite mp3 number where ever you go with good sound effect. The other features and the display design just take me away. I am hearing En Kadhale Kadhale from duet in my mobile, when pressing the publish button. En Kadhale..EnKadhale ennai enna saiya pogiray…

My whereabouts!

Time alters continuously and plays the vital transformations in everyone life. So do it had played on me and I am once again back in here for prospicient period. I do miss lots of stuff at my hometown and the mind wanders between the memories at hometown. This wasn't there until it was accepted and left the place. But once I landed here my thoughts flow back. This is ironical and totally confused cognition. But this simple mind doesn't accept and wanders again. Anyways to get something we need to give up, so trying to enjoy with what is present. In this land, time plays the vital role and everyone gives the top respect to time. Since at one place you slip out of time then its like a chain of reaction and all the rest move out of time. Time is the key for everything here.

The song UNAI KANDA MUDHAL from the movie Parijatham just dwells into my mind. The way the female singer sings makes me excited and happy. I have made it a point to listen at least once a day for sometime. The other film song which heads in my recent movie list is Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu. Partha Mudhal song by Bombay Jayshree, Unni Menon and Manjal Veyil by Hariharan & others are my latest top listing music. Harris Jeyaraj has played one of his good music to this film. Am eagerly waiting for the movie to launch.

This weekend I watched The shawshank redemption movie. I wasn't aware that it was one of the good movies or about the crew. I started watching late in the night and just kept on watching till the end. When I looked at the timepiece, it showed quarter past three in the morning. The screenplay made me to sit and keep going. There was a proper composition of things and there wasn't much deviation from the core subject. The jail scenes weren't exaggerated, and exactly in the boundary lines. Both the actors Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman did at their best. I was impressed and would add on to my all-time favorites list.

Query?

Run movie was telecasted in SUN TV. In the final comedy scene, actor Vivek would be wearing the in skirts of females and would dance making people to believe he is a saint. In that he would speak the dialogue “Mathavan paecha kekatha…pethavan paeacha kellu…summa irukatha…Amma thaan ellam…” In this dialogue “Amma thaan ellam…” was muted completely by SUN TV. If there is no relationship between politics and the channel, which is always said by the DMK leaders, why the hell for a dialogue which doesn’t even point to JJ is made soundless? It made to think cheap about the TV that it would not even telecast the word Amma. I think Amma is the only Tamil word SUN TV doesn’t like in Tamil language. Then I wonder what they call their mother at home. “MOM”, but place where the so called Tamil thatha lives, will he allow it?

In Vijay TV, when scenes in a movie have smoking or drinking, places a warning message. This is not at all done in any of SUN network TV. But they have taken precaution that Amma word in the dialogue is not shown. Because it says “Amma thaan ellam” which they think might influence people to vote her. What a shabby and ugly thinking! But they alone can relay all the negative happenings in the last five years in the name of special news in all the Tamil SUN channels. WOW! What a noble gesture:-) I am not supporter of any party. But they showcase as if they are doing only business and do all non sense. Can our “aAn pillai” answer to the above query?
