Sayonara to Chicago!

It’s time for me to get back home after this short assignment. Professionally and personally, I learnt few new things here. I am excited to see my family, friends and place after this stopgap. Chennai, bike ride, FM, tea kada, beach, theatres and of course the people hmm... fun to experience them. I am pressing the pause button for blogging from now. Once I settle down, I would restart again. Hope I press the play soon. Dudes, bye for now :-)

This song is from the movie ULLAM KETKUMAE. The song was sung by Hariharan and music by Harris Jayraj. I have got some mp3 cds here from India. I used to hear this song earlier when I was at home. But here in my room, alone and during night when I hear this song its mind blowing and its altogether a different feel. I don't really count how many times I repeat this song in the player. But when I start this song, it continues to repeat till I close this black box. Particularly Hariharan voice jells with the lyrics and the delicate music adds a soft touch. An amazing number to hear. Got added to my list of ever green favorites. o manamae o manamae...

AN HONOURABLE NOTE

  • He is the one who took me out to show the world, catching my little fingers during my childhood.
  • He is the one who always taught me many things and mentored me throughout my schooling.
  • He is the one who spoke like a friend during my college days.
  • He is the one who cared about me at most all times.
  • He is the one who had scolded and touched forcibly at the most when I was totally wrong.
  • He is the one who see my growth from tiny piece till here.
  • He is the one with whom I have shared most of my happiness, sorrows and disappointments.
  • He is the one who always gave his shoulders when I needed one.
  • He is the one who still keep on revolving around, for me.
  • He is the one who without any expectations give whatever I need.
  • He is the one who had sacrificed many things for me.
  • He is the one who feel happy seeing me happy and feel sad seeing me depressed.
  • He is the one still supporting me always and without which I might broke down.
  • He is the one who never appreciate me in my front but does not forget to do in my back.
  • He is the one who cares others and help others to his maximum extend.
  • He is one of the great personalities I have seen in my life.
  • He is one of the respectable person I look upon always.
  • He is one of my adorable person.
Its one of the great age mark, he had reached today. I am proud to be his blood relation. I am unable to express in words the pleasure I experience on this occasion. I definitely miss this cherishing moment being along with him. But still I have my hearty wishes for him. I pray that he lives long and every moment be with me. I have a great respect to him and salute him for giving me everything including my life. He is one of the wonderful human being in this world. Thanks DAD!

      Blog walk-through

Read an interesting post on hawkeyeview with the title What is your salary? The post is in two parts.

      Part - I
      Part - II

The blogger is right and the points put forth by him seem to be a valid one. I too had similar experiences and hate to ask someone salary. It’s none of my business and a salary can do anything in judging ones' capability. As the blogger has mentioned, the weed is engrafted in the schools. I have seen relatives who first when you say you got a job, immediately they would question about what’s the salary? Then he\she compares the said salary with a person living in their near by street working in same type of company. Instead of feeling happy of getting a job, it humiliates you. I met a person in my company after few months I joined the company. After few first section of a communication, he questioned me what is your salary? This he did to check whether his and mine are same. Since, he has also joined in the same designation. I gazed him once and out of hate told it. Next is even worse. It was annual remuneration hike. A person who works in the same place, asked me what’s your hike? With a cruel face and biting teeth told it. He was surprised a bit and after sometime he mailed me asking for my latest pay slip softcopy to argue with HR for equal rise. My goodness! I was surprised by his mail, how he can ask so openly which is supposed to be confidential and ones private subject. Again here once I came to Chicago, I met a NRI and the same question was put forward. As the blogger has mentioned just don't ask it. It annoys others and looses the value of good friend.

      Saw day first!

Per 1: The movie was yet another love story presented in a different way. The screenplay of the movie is good and doesn't bore you much. There are no big cast or huge production values; still the movie has a good amount of amusement. The way the narration goes on is interesting and makes you to watch it without much restlessness. The director has done a good job in creating events in an interesting way. The knots of some of the scenes were appreciable.

Per 2: The movie is a different one, but still same old sentiments were carried in the movie. Some of the scenes are seen for decades in history of Tamil movies. There were loops holes present in some of the scenes. Though the production value is low, you can get a feel of stage drama in some places. The second half of the story goes as expected by each one of us. There was neither twist nor thrill in the second half of the play.

Per 1: The main hero has done quiet a decent job. The expressions were pretty much improved from his earlier movies. The actor had good amount of maturity especially in the second half. He has a long way to go and suits for this kind of drama type movies. If he doesn't try for big bulls’ action type roles, I hope he would continue well. He has done a neat job and had put good effort to his work. The other hero has done his role decently. Especially his voice has good impact to his characterization as a NRI. I think he needs a good break in a solo soft hero role, for which he should be trying his best. The actor has fitted perfectly in the given role in the movie.

Per 2: The main hero though has done well; still lot of improvements has to be done in many areas. Some of the places he looked very casual and the body language doesn't fit in them. The other hero has little scope to perform. His body doesn't coordinate well in songs, has to improvise in them.

Per 1: The heroine has done a decent job. She was peppy and bounced back as expected. She has done earlier this kind of role and suits her perfectly. All other casts have done the job properly given to them.

Per 2: Though the heroine has suited, in some scenes she looked like very elder to hero. The alarm has ringed for her to perform sister or supporting roles in coming movies. Some of the other casts were loosely coupled in the movie.

Per 1: The director has proved herself and had saved her mentors value. She has long way and as a debut film; the movie has come out well and has opened a wide gate for her. The producer has given earlier such sweet low budget films. He is some of the few persons in the film industry to invest the money what he earns back into the same. I though felt he should have done a cameo role in the movie giving a jerk to audience. The music was good, and the background score was binding together with the movie.

Per 2: The director could have avoided some of the usual scenes. She could have given more to the technical aspects as her mentor is known for it. Except for few songs and back ground, it makes you tough to believe that the music was rendered by this musician.

Dudes, the above discussion was about the movie Kanda Naal Mudhal. The Per 1 and Per 2 was actually the way hero [Prasanna] and heroine [Laila] was characterized. Both were portrayed as opposite characters and I have used the same in the above review. Hope you all like way. The casts were Prasanna, Laila, Karthik, Lakshmi, Revathy and others. Music by Yuvan Shankar Raja, directed by Priya, who was earlier worked with Manirathnam and produced by Prakash Raj.

[P.S. Fourth Dimension was added to narsidude :-) Hows' it?]

Watching Swades sitting here in Chicago is totally a different experience. I cannot explain it in few lines, though I am watching the movie for the second time, the feel was not similar. I am such an unblushing guy, that I can say "Oh! Watching Swades is different here". So what, anything am I going to do! Nothing right, then why the heck writing this? Don't know myself :-(

      Scroll updates

I was scrolling through blogs for new updates in the intricate trap. Got hold of teakada page. The latest post California'vil Beedhiii was good and comical. It portrayals the exact picture of the current Tamil TV media in a mirthful way. But this is what in reality is happening. For petty things huge hungama is done. The meaning of information is broken and forcing people to believe what they provide is the actual information. If this continues then it’s not going to be helpful to any one. Some basics have to be followed. Technical things are apart, still the content is important. If it is found void, then what’s the use of providing round the clock live etc...? The actual purpose is wasted. It’s just showcasing their power in the world of media.

Another post, Not Mylapore, please!!, my goodness I laughed to the core for some of the lines in it. This is about the current situation in T.Nagar. The way it was narrated by one of bloggers in the team was humorous. I was looking peculiar for sometime, since I was reading and laughing in a room where no one was there :-)

Few fav. lines from the post

My wife wants some good silk sarees. Where do I take her?
Push her into Pothys and run. This is your best chance to live with some self respect in future.

I heard there are lots of platform shops?
There is no platform. Only shops.

      Whatever, how good are they?
Very good infact. You get all sortsa brands including Nykee, Ribok and Adeedas. At cheap rates that too!

Hey isn't that phony? The spellings are all messed up!!
Naah. They have been changed according to numerology, that's all.

Fine. Is there any good restaurant there?
      Ya, Saravana Bhavan.

Wow! What would I get there for, say 50 rupees?
Quite a lot. Half a dosa, 5 ml Sambhar and some pebbles.

      Pebbles? Why??
Huh, you are dumber than a crow! To raise the level of sambhar ofcourse.

      No chutney is it?

They have it in a big vessel near the entrance. You are allowed to take a peek.

The first day of the Year!

[Courtesy:movie-gazette.com; Click snap for a blow up]
The day before the New Year and today I had lots of phone wishes and email greetings [Arambichutanya!]. I got up early on a Sunday and on a new year only because of the phone calls wishes. Thanks to all of them remembering and wished me personally. I had one full day and of course the first day of the year. So had my early lunch and went to a film for which I had the expectations as I do have for a Rajini film. I had conversations before with Lazygeek about the film, who gave a blazing opening page for this movie in tribute to the director, film and the HERO. Yes, I watched the beast, the new Hollywood superstar whose splendid performance was gazed by me, KINGKONG. I have seen movies where beast was a horror, but here as a flip it’s our most liked hero. Come on dudes; cheer him up with an ear knocking whistle. The KINGKONG was a terror to all but not for our cute heroine. As in commercial Tamil movie, our hero in this film saves the heroine from villains. But these villains are also of same genotype. The roar, the sniffing, the loud shouts, the thumping beat on the chest, the sad looks and the angry face all these expressions of our fabulous hero would stay in my mind quiet some time. Amazing movie to watch!

It’s going to be a kabala motcham for me. Finally, I saw a movie in US of A in a Cineplex. After watching a fantastic movie did loads of shopping. Like a hungry man, shopped the items. When the bill came, just scratched my head thinking what have I purchased!! After the hunt, went to StarBucks for having evening snacks\coffee with my friend and his family. Hmm… after a longtime got the taste of typical south Indian filter coffee. Had a nice dinner in my friends’ house, watching our thalaiver movie, Annamalai. Man damn it, thalai is too good to watch in the movie. I don't know the exact count of watching this film. But still I don't get bored watching again. This man has the fire in his eyes. Thalai kalakitaru. Chumma suddku pottu Malai da Annamalai nu solumpothu, naama body kulla jivunu etho nadakuthu. Came back to my den, with a good satisfying first day of the year.

      Welcome onboard Mr.2006 :-)
