Veyil

Pasupathy stands apart and has done one of his finest performances. I was able to see Murugasen and Dhool Pasupathy wasn't seen in any shades. That’s the success of the actor and has to be rewarded with applause. The body language and the facial expressions were adorable. His eyes speak more than his dialogues. Pasupathy coming from Koothupattari was introduced in the film Mayan and later came into lights in Dhool. When I saw him Dhool, I thought for a moment that this guy does well but has mixed himself into the masala of Tamil movies. This would be his role in future assignments. As expected he was doing similar kind and was seen as the usual commercial villains. But when watched Maja, I had the ray of hope that this guy would come back. He did finally in a fabulous way. Though not that he has to leave completely his commercial roles but has to do more similar roles to feed his actor in him.

With above said the second person who has to be appreciated is the director "Vasantha Balan". Though the movie might not be an outright commercial success but has marked his entry with a optimistic note. The screenplay and the story telling are aptly done. I wonder how being an assistant director of Shankar who does everything in a big way was able to script such an innate script. The script doesn't have any artificial gimmicks in it nor has costly backdrop. The play just goes on with the way story goes and it’s very natural. He has his tribute to his guru by giving such a good movie.

Shankar as a producer and director is equally successful. He is able to pick up the best and different plays\directors. As a producer he contradicts himself with his direction. Kadhal, Imsai Arasan and now Veyil all are of different genres but natural and fresh. This makes him as an eminent producer and S pictures adding victorious movies to its accolades. One more point to be said is he hasn't let down any of his assistant director with whom he has the confidence. That’s a true leadership to backup his team and see them in heights. He has given them the opportunities and so do his assistants by grabbing & making best of it. Expecting more such different movies from S Pictures and showing a new trend in production.

Bharath is refining his acting skills in every film and emerging out to be a matured actor. But he doesn't have much to do as Pasupathy occupies the entire film. Bhavana has done the usual heroine role and she looks damn pretty. I am not sure of the heroine name; she appears for few scenes pairing with Pasupathy and dies. She has to be pinned up as expected to do some pretty neat roles in future. She is peppy and her expression attracts the audience. Shreya has done her supporting role well and after Thimiru, once again proved her acting skills.

Music and camera work are neatly done. With so much new comers in the backend still the film doesn't lack in any quality. Altogether the movie is an emotional drama with fresh breeze in it.

Thodargirathu :-)

This blog has completed its 2 years and entering into its third year of existence. I used to read blogs after its introduction to me from one of my friend. I never intend to blog myself and was just reading to know what they are & what they write. One evening at office when I was about to leave, was called by my above friend and asked what is the name you like for your blog? I said are you kidding, I am trying to know its spelling and you are asking me to write. But due to the fact that I didn’t want to deny abruptly and for a moment thought what if, I just accepted it. I didn’t even know how to post and what to write. But something I wanted to do and thought why not this. After creating the account, my friend in front of him asked me to write something, which was like nightmare. Nothing came to my mind and was thinking is this yet another crap in my life I am going to do like all before I have done. Just wrote a self welcome note to myself which when I read now I start laughing, not that I have grown up in blogging\writing but thinking of my sheer ignorance.

To pen it’s really tough and the stuff in it is more important. It’s like everybody tells a story for a movie but when Manirathnam or Shankar says it has its own dimension. The carving of the script is an art and everybody doesn’t get that easily. I have written many craps here and few here & there good ones according to me. Always in my case it happens like doing something and getting something as an end result. I intend to write but its turns out to be something else in a different shape. I feel I haven’t got still the art of writing. But it doesn’t stop me writing, I wish I continue as long this excitement and enthusiasm lives up.

The moment I post something, it’s like oh yeah! Dude something is done for the day!! This excitement still exists and hasn’t drained away which makes me to write more. I don’t have huge readers but a handful of them and most of them whom I knew. Just because I marketed myself saying to them I have a blog and when find time please do read. After they read the thrill remains till they say “yaPa blog pathen naalla iruku :-0”. I get surprised when I see new readers on the comments and think myself people read your writing also...Hmm.

Many things I learnt from this blog and one fact I understood is I am very bad time manager. Yup! Its sheer fact and you can see it on the below recent posts. I really don’t do time management well and end up in not writing a post at least for a week. I always hang it in to do list of mine and keep postponing it for days. Also prioritization of work is horrible and just goes by what comes for that time. I am pretty sure that this isn’t going to work in long run and has to completely rework from scratch.

Might be it happens for others but it happens for me at times regularly. That is suddenly I think what to write, is it really worth to someone or myself to scribble something, what if I don’t post something, Dude lots of others are really writing well and if you don’t write no one cares, really is this something good for me, am I having any meager skill to write, is it worth spending time??? All these rise within me and falls as time pass by. Suddenly I get tempestuous and start reading other blogs which I read regularly. Then come back and see my archives to see what mistakes are carved carefully by me :-( I have cursed myself many times when not writing a post or not writing it properly. It needs huge amount of effort and perseverance. It’s not a one day job nor comes out of teaching. But something stays on within me and still this one exists for its third year…

Hey Hey.....Papappaaa...

Madai Thiranthu song of Illayaraja from the movie Nizhalgal was remixed by a team and was released. I saw it a couple of weeks before when one of my friends insisted me to watch it. It was really exciting to watch with the hip hop rhythm and easy flow. Later found that it's revolving around the web for quite sometime. Anyways do enjoy the remix video. Here you go…

Ugly Faces

The below one came up in “Arasu Pathilgal” of Kumudam Tamil weekly issue. Really I was taken back by the behavior of these brutal creatures. Everyone speak independence and growing India. These incidents shows that we still are in Stone Age and haven’t matured to what we speak. It’s a shameful and utter nonsense incident which takes long period to heal off.

Entailing Short One!

Below short story was published in Kumudam Tamil weekly magazine. It’s not a high literature work. But still it showcases the common working people problem which we all tend to have. Especially the working class in IT sector has to distinguish themselves between office and personal life. Mixing up things would essentially mess them with their personal life. Good one to read.

Any Objections?

Vallavan...Noooooooo...!!

[Courtesy:www.home.no]

Personally I don't like Silambarasan a.k.a Simbhu, due to the fact that he tries to show off too much. There is a dialogue in the movie Pudupettai where Dhanush tries to show his pride as "ஏய் நான் தான்! நான் தான்!!". I believe that this is perfectly applicable to Simbhu. He might be talented but that doesn't mean that he knows everything. I read in one of his interview or as a gossip that he has said like he was the one who directed the movie Manmadhan but still in title card a different director name was posted. Why the heck!!

Vallavan was the only Tamil movie which I watched in Diwali damakas. The movie was so much hyped by everybody and it was taken for such a long period. Promotions on the movie were like "Simbhu doing the editing every night in his home to fasten the screenplay". Nayanthara in her interview "Simbhu is so talented and every stroke of the movie would be a delight. The movie was taken with utmost diligence by Simbhu". To add more spice one more, tagged around was "Love affair between Nayanthara and Simbhu". My god...Save us!!

The movie was just a repeatu of Padayapa and nothing else. A girl had this strong desire to marry a guy and she takes revenge on him when he goes with another girl. For this ctrl + c story, I feel this hoopla was unnecessary. Adding to this base line, few college scenes + sentiments + two fight sequences + Punch dialogues + few good songs + three colorful heroines and our great Simbhu. "தலை எல்லாம் சுத்துது"

The song "Loosu penne" was really good to hear. I was thinking this would be picturized with good steps. But he has done some "Yoo Yoo" stuff with few glossy females around him. Yuvan, Sandhya and Santhanam have done their roles well. But Nayanthara has also done her role well [Catch my point;-0]. Reema, please no more characters on screen like this. One question to you was the face with makeup or without makeup. The movie can be seen with a free ticket + 10$ for the interval expense :-)

The Departed

[Courtesy: cinemaemcena.com; Click snap for a blow up]

Every Friday we all get this weekend mood. Similarly I get the night show movie mood on Fridays. This happens almost all the weekends, whether in U.S or India, the urge is same. It doesn’t subside due to the geographical differences. But due to the tour schedules I had couple of weeks before; I did not visit the theatre for a month. The irony is, mostly alternate days I would be watching movies in DVD, still watching in the theatre has a special interest in me.

This week I went for “The Departed”, though the “Guardian” was hitching in the back of the mind. The movie crewed with few top guns like Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, Jack Nicholson, Mark Wahlberg …. The movie was also rated good at rottentomatoes as 95-92%. The story is about two moles swapped into the two opposite gangs. One is the cop gang and another is the underworld gang. What happens to two and when each one has to identify who they are is the main theme, around which the interesting play was built. Decaprio has done excellently his role with his vivid facial reactions on tensed situations and during the scenes where the gang leader questions him for his identity. Damon too has done his role but sometimes we get a feeling in his expressions that he is doing his debut film. The main hero to be said is Jack Nicholson who has nearly taken the complete movie under his flamboyant acting. Overall the movie is good to watch and has good nail biting sequences.

On an unrelated side note watched the original Telugu version of Vijay upcoming movie Pokiri. I assume that it’s going to be a massive hit and the ardent fans of Vijay are going to relish every inch of the movie. Mahesh Babu is the hero and seems to be a Telugu version of Vijay himself .The main question is how our Prabhu Deva who is directing the Tamil version is going to maintain the tempo similar to its original version. The comedy is hopeless in the Telugu version and wish it would rectified in the remake. If it’s going to be scene by scene remake then its one more movie for Vijay which is going to run for 100 miles. Naaku Telungu Telusu Babu...

Yahoo Mail Beta !!

[Click for a blow up;]

Last week sometime I was prompted to upgrade my Yahoo mail to new beta version. I was pretty sure something would be in the enriched form to keep them in the race with other mega giants especially Google. The faith wasn't disappointed. The web yahoo is replica version of Microsoft Outlook client and done exactly similar fashion with glossy look. It was really awesome to see the features and easy mailing facility. It has almost all the features of Outlook including the Inbox, Archive, Personal folder [Yeah...only on the web] and other simple drag tech.

I wonder such competitions between the big giants makes more and more easy for the web users especially the novice users. Thus, enabling swift reach of technology to unexplored lands. As one among the users group, excited to see such enhancements. Amazing stuff... Keep going monsters.

Laughed Out Loud :-)

Rajiv and Mona are flying to Australia for a two-week vacation to celebrate their 40th anniversary. Suddenly, over the public address system, the Captain announces, "Ladies and Gentlemen, I am afraid I have some very bad news. Our engines have ceased functioning and we will attempt an emergency landing. Luckily, I see an uncharted island below us and we should be able to land on the beach. However, the odds are that we may never be rescued and will have to live on the island for the rest of our lives!"

Thanks to the skill of the flight crew, the plane lands safely on the island.

An hour later Rajiv turns to his wife and asks, "Mona, did we pay our Rs 5lakh deposit cheque yet to ICICI Bank?"
"No, sweetheart," she responds.Rajiv, still shaken from the crash landing, then asks, "Mona, did we pay our ICICI Bank Master card yet?""Oh no! I'm sorry. I forgot to send the cheque," she says. "One last thing, Mona. Did you remember to send cheques for the ICICI auto loan to them too this month?" he asks."Oh, forgive me, Rajiv," begged Mona. "I didn't send that one, either." Rajiv grabs her and gives her the biggest kiss in 40 years. Mona pulls away and asks him, "So, why did you kiss me?"Rajiv answers, "They'll find us!"

Road Ahead !!

[Click for a blow up]

Life is pretty fast. Hardly finding time to react, realize. Just moving on and on… Something or other comes and blocks your calendar. This place is pretty fast at least for me. There is always some pending task to be done and look forward for tomorrow to start. Donno how long this is going to be. Still this is current life and has to move on with it :-)

Just like that!

Felt like longing for a day off. The dawn was coming to a closure and so is the business hour. The week was coming to an end and so is the business day. It was time to pack up the black box into the black bag. One task was to be completed before shutting the Bill Gates framework. The frame of mood was for the weekend. At a relaxed outfit came out alone to see what’s happening in the outside real world. The scene showed me that always nature wins you. It provides the horizon of happiness at the sight...that’s nature as always.

The Jaunts

[Courtesy: ens-newswire; Click snap for a blow up]

Last 3 weekends were faster and busy than the weekdays. I toured around Seattle, Detroit and near Chicago a place called Starved Rock Adventure. All the three trips were fabulous and resplendent. In Seattle I had visited my friends place and he took me to Deception Pass, Snoqualmie Falls and the great Downtown. I loved all the three places and it was a rich experience to see the nature’s beauty coupling tightly with mans craft. Seattle Downtown is small when compared to Chicago but the compactness and the elegance adds more value to it. I also had lots of home food to my delight and with beautiful memories landed back to Chicago.

Then last weekend visited Detroit to another friends place and roamed around the city like Kamal rounding in the Guna movie. Especially the Ford Village was the star attractions and was huge to look around. The town is small and moderate. Everywhere Ford has a place and occupied the whole city. It’s a good place to visit and has many interesting spots.

This weekend went to Starved Rock Adventure [SRA] near Chicago. The main reason I went more than for amusement was a self test. I have recently got a car and started driving locally. But I wanted to test myself and the car to see whether in the freeways of US we run well. The test was successful and around 250 miles was crossed without many hassles. Both the car and I passed in the test scoring 80% :-) [Assessed by narsidude]. It was a good experience and had boosted my confidence level in driving. The SRA has good marine attractions like speed boats, jet skis, and pontoon boats. The self drive in the speed boat was really exciting and loved it to zip around. Next weekend planning to take stay home as the human body needs some rest. Hope I make it and sudden plans don’t arise.

Google Sweetenings

[Click snap for a blow up]

Today, I noticed the change in my Google Toolbar. I then checked out the new features and it’s really helpful for all the users for getting a rich browsing experience. For long time I used to carry my favorites as a file from system to system. Every time I add\update my favorites, I send a copy as mail to myself. The new toolbar had relived this pain and you can carry your bookmark wherever you go and Google does it for you. The search box has been modified and really amazing to get list of values as you type in as suggestions\history\Did you mean? Apart from these, providing logon options to Google accounts, send to options, translator and much more. Check more features here.

I like the way they create the tools. They are very simple but cover everything they would like to do. No flashy colors, no big banner but it catches your eyes. Capturing the basic user’s needs and making surfing easier & comfortable. Everybody need is right information at right time. This is what Google is capitalizing and working on it. The bookmark is a kind of your information need, the listing of search values as you type in, and so on. I am curious and like to be an audience at their technical meeting when designing such tools. It’s like wanting to see how they hit the nail. BANG!!

Bothersome experience for a mediocre movie :-(

[Courtesy: newstodaynet.com]

Vettayadu Vilayadu was showed in Chicago at The Lakehurst theatre, Waukegan. One of my friends asked me to book the ticket through Sulekha. Hence, booked the tickets for Friday 10.00 pm show, with zeal to watch the long awaiting movie. I am now confused which one to explain here, about the movie or the way I watched the movie. I want to say both of these, "என்னன அநத விடுங்க!". It was an irritating experience at the theatre. My whole weekend got screwed up due to this night show.

Around 8.00 pm, I got the news that the 7.00 pm show was cancelled. I then called the theatre and asked is the 10.00 pm show still on? He said no problem at all, please do come. I was relaxed and started around 9.10 pm for having the dinner and then to theatre. I reached around 9.40 pm to the theatre. The moment I entered the theatre I can feel the Chennai air. Oh yeah! People were crowded around the ticket issuer with their print outs and photo identities. They completely encircled him and there was complete disorderliness. In between many other movie watchers thought that the line is for them and after getting their ticket still stood in the line. I was really having fun at the scene. As a fellow Chennaite, got into the sandwich crowd to be part of and rushing to the ticket issuer. Everybody were speeding him as if the movie is running. That’s we; I was feeling really at home. Finally got the tickets and went into the theatre. The theatre was average and Pilot theatre at Royapettah was much better.

The slide shows were running and to highest cardinality, quotes by Jennifer Lopez were screened repeatedly. What should I say, just laughing! One more point is, two of my friends who have come doesn't know Tamil. They have just because the others have called them. At that point we really don’t know the subsequent things that were about to happen. I can see many confused Desis particularly sweet girls of course with westernized clothes. Not just dress to mention but the way they behaved and the postures were itching. I was told by my another friend that a old mama sitting besides him with full butler peter and saying "In Toronto there used to be posters but here nothing. Oh! I could have got my iPod, to listen songs." With a full pan inside his mouth, he was revealing his old stories to heights. Yeah truly fun and time pass to see such characters.

Around 10.15 pm with these interesting things happening around, the movie wasn't still started. I was just commenting with the friends "மச்சி! பொட்டி வரலயா?". After sometime went out to checkout what’s happening??? Still there was good amount of crowd around the ticket issuer and thought myself, may be after everybody getting in they would start the movie. So went back and again waited. It was 10.45, 11.00, 11.15...time was just tickling but still Jennifer Lopez was saying quotes. It was irritating and the crowd started to murmurs, children crying all over and the young professional dads were at critical state with this situation where nobody thought of.

[Confusion at its peak;Click snap for a blow up]

When we went out now again a group was speaking with the ticket issuer and he said the movie box hasn't some yet, it’s near the theatre and be here in 10 mins. Oh man! What was said as a joke was happening. "நெஜமவே பொட்டி வரல ஹி!ஹி!" .Every 10 mins you go and ask the organizer, he would say next 5-10 minutes. Time was running and it was 11.30 pm. The crowd became cut loose and started yelling at the organizer. Actually it was bad planning. When I got a chance I asked one of the organizers, why the hell did you posted ad for movie tickets when you haven't got the box. You should have posted after you got it. It’s bad to make people wait for such long hours in night with entire family. Kids were really suffering a lot which was pathetic. At 11.40 pm the box had come but they haven't started the movie. When enquired the movie reels has to be loaded into the projector manually and there are 9 boxes. Each would take around 5 mins and so more 45 mins. Shucks! It’s getting worse. People who did not see 7 pm show which was cancelled were waiting for the 10.00 pm show. Since they have come long way of 100 miles. But things weren't under control of anyone.

Finally the movie started at 12.30 am and by that time few already left. Around 1.45 am interval slide was shown and the movie was continued. After interval the characters in the movie were upside down. I was thinking its something Gautham was technically doing. But no it was the reel loaders work. Alas! The frustration was to the core. The projector guy has loaded in the reverse direction. Again the organizers were held but this time more vigorously. Since after waiting for hours and half way the movie of it’s said no more movie. Nobody accepted. The projector guy had left the place when the movie started and he was called back. Full chaos around the place. He came after 45 mins running and started looking into the issue. Around 3.00 am the issue was fixed. The movie started again and ended at 4.30 am. Came back home with pain and the following days got screwed up. It was one of the irritating and worse experiences that I had for an ordinary movie.

The movie started right away with entry of Kamal with no heroics stunts in 2 minutes of opening. I was thinking Gautham would have done a different approach. Kamal was looking really big on screen. Though he is getting older, I can't assume that he hasn't payed attention at his looks on screen. He was blotting and did not fit in the dresses of a cop. The movie was about a story of cop investigating a case and finding out the culprits. This is the tagline of the story. All the expectations and interest of Gautham were broken. It can be said as an extension of Kakha Kakha or part II of it. If Gautham wouldn't have taken Kakha Khaka and taken this as first, it would have been a sure shot hit. But after that, this has nothing special in it. The story line, casts, song picturization, fight sequences, screenplay, characterizations...everything has strong resemblances of Kakha Kakha. I think the same story with Kamal and with a different climax was taken.

Gautham with yet another cop movie, chasing two cyco serial killers. He could have taken the story here in India but what is the need to go till New York and shoot is not clear. Might be to get a richer look?!?!?! There are many loop holes in the screen play. What’s the reason for the cyco serial killers to be like it, what was the reason that a heroine leaving behind 2 months child back in home and search a job in USA, is it so easy to get a ticket from JFK to India as just boarding a moffusil bus in our town, How can a taxi driver with blood spots all over the short allow the serial killers to drop in the airport...So many questions raise in our mind which are unanswered. He could have made the plot more interesting as the first half which he fails miserably to do in the second part. Also the usage of same person’s everywhere from his earlier movies makes even more bore. As a director, with the big add on Kamal, he could have done a much better script. I doubt that he hasn't got out from his earlier cop flick and still want to pursue with it. But if he continues to head on with these stereo type movies, he is sure to burn his ass.

Kamal has done his job. But we miss the old Aadhi in him. He is lost in this movie. Few more care could have given to his looks as cop which definitely he would have thought about. But what had stopped him in executing is a question. Apart from it, this is like a usual Kamal movie. Actually he doesn’t have much to do for his caliber. His character can be done by another upcoming hero which would have boosted him. But for Kamal...hmm...not for him. Also few dialogues weren't acceptable for Kamal or the cop characters of Gautham. Like "Back home its called Raghavan instinct". "I feel good when I speak with you. Actually everybody says the same when they speak with me." Such self proclaims is neither good signs for Kamal or Gautham’s cop characters. It should be implicit but not explicitly specified. It’s yet another Kamal flick and fans of him would enjoy seeing him on screen.

Jothika has done pretty neat job. She reveals her emotions with the body under control. Its one of the good movie she could add on in her list. But she looks pale in most of the places. As if she hasn’t slept properly and also she has reduced a bit. Another heroine Kamalini Mukherjee, Wow! She looks damn cute:-) She just comes in for couple of scenes. But marks you with her pleasant smile and the romantic compositions with Kamal. She would be a noticeable person in the upcoming movies. Her looks really kill you; with a small portion of teeth coming in front adds more romantic effect to her face. The acting scope is less but with the given chance she has done well.

The camera work was awesome and few places it was really appreciable. Technically as the earlier flick this has good camerawork. But technical things alone don’t make the movie different. Truly, Harris has done a remarkable work in his music. I like all the songs and the way it’s been captured on screen is worth watching. He has done his job well and deserves a loud applaud. Apart from it most of the characters come and move along the movie.

The movie is going to be a sure shot box office hit. But it cannot be tagged as a good piece in Gautham’s diary.

People's Network - Stay Tuned

"orkut is an Internet social network service run by Google and named after its creator, Google employee Orkut Büyükkökten. It claims to be designed to help users meet new friends and maintain existing relationships. Similar to Friendster and MySpace, orkut goes a step further by permitting "communities" of users. It is also invitation-only: users must be invited to join the community by someone who's already there..." Continue here.

I was introduced to Orkut couple of months back. I like the way it makes you connected to other people. Through a single friend you can be connected to the whole network. That’s the concept. You can mail or write a piece of message to anyone known as scrap. You can add your personal\professional profiles and also photo gallery.

One more thing which I like is the community. As how you have in tech forums, but here it is again message pinups. Any new technology has its own potential threats, so do Orkut has from strangers and hackers. But still if it’s been used properly as a service, then it really helps you to stay well connected.

What’s our base? Is it shaken?

Look at here, here, here and here. I am really confused on reading these stuffs. What are we up to, just for the rankings like the Top 10 stuff in SUN TV. Nope I don't think so!! I believe we as a part of literate community write blogs on what we think, want to discuss, like to pass on, like to express or just as a pin up for future archive. Everybody within themselves is great minds. Nobody is less nor high without comparisons. Each one has their distinct qualities which other might not be having or lacking.

I was assuming that blogging is just ones passion or a habit or a time slice or an interest. But seeing these it’s no longer the same as assumed. It goes in an incorrect direction. There is always a better person than one in each arena. There is also person below you and you are above for few. It’s is all part of life and it goes on. But tying up with business and personal interests jolts down to weird reactions. Look at the comments at all the above links. It’s worse than words exchanged between slum gangsters during a clash. It is neither a good sign nor beneficial to any one. It just cultivates the poison tree funda read in my old school days.

Does the hit rate so significant or the ranking given by any of them out there have an impact? If you have started the blogging with back in my mind with the hit rates or ranking then you have failed in first place. These tools are measures to motivate you to take serious on the way you write or making you feel good. It’s also like a helper given the readers choice on what they would like to go with. It is a kind of pat given to you on your work done till now and doesn't mean you are the one, at least in the blog arena. Perarasu films are block busters these days when compared to Bharathiraja or Manirathnam movies. Does it mean he is best of all? Again there is always a better one than the other and it continues. It’s all how we take it and how we continue to go with our passions. If you take these it in a right spirits and not getting any horns up there then you are saved and blessed. I get 500 mails for a day from my system when compared to my higher hierarchy. So my mail box has more traffic when compared to him. Does it make any sense to me?

Come on dudes, we as a group should collectively do for cause when needed or continue our interest without these distractions. There is so much potential in this area and never know what would happen in future. This field has gained so much popularity among most of the power\non-power users and the clash for no reason is like spitting above facing upwards.

I have expressed just my thoughts and have no intention to hurt anybody. Felt the way things happened wasn't good. Finally everybody wants to go to heaven, but nobody wants to die!!

Professor John Nash

[Courtesy: imdb.com;Click snap for a blow up]

I was watching the movie Bourne Supremacy for second time in DVD. I was having another DVD on my table. My roomies saw it and told to switch from the current movie and watch the other one. I then got to know about the movie and after couple of days watched it. It was really a fantastic movie which got to my stupid mind. The movie was Beautiful Mind. It was about a Nobel Prize winner for his work on Mathematics John Nash. The whole play was an awesome experience to watch the biography of such a versatile personality. I got to know a real great person and the works done by him. The movie was based on the biography book of John Nash with alterations to make the on screen interesting. Two pieces I got touched. One was the support given by his wife when he was suffering from the mental illness. The final Nobel Prize stage and the speech he delivers, Wow. He states about problems, solution and logics. Finally ending up to point his wife and says she was his logic with love and affection.

The director and virtual Nash on screen have done excellent work. Russell Crowe has done a neat job for the role he has taken. Every piece had come as just its happening\happened in reality. Every body has done a great work. Wish that such movies with interesting screen play can be done in Tamil as we had\have great minds with us. It was truly a wonderful movie to watch. Finally John Nash himself was shown on the screen to pass Russel the information that he has won the prize was a surprise pack which I knew after seeing the making of movie.

The makeup and the background score were perfect. The aging sequence of Nash was shown as natural as it can be. Also the back ground score was ease with the play going upfront. After watching I couldn't resist myself and googled on Nash to know more about him. As a movie it was lovely to watch and it was a thorough enjoyment.

(P.S:- Watched Step Up and World Trade Center. Step Up is good and pretty fast play. A different genre from the usual thriller, dishum movies. World Trade Center hmmmm...When reality is just shown as such without the spices added in it, it draaaaaaaaaaaaaaaags)

Eventually got it !!

One of the necessary components of living in USA is to know driving and a four wheeler. Decided to go for the first part of the component. The first thing to be completed is a computer test to get a Instruction permit. After getting a permit you can drive a car accompanied by a valid driver license holder of that state. You need to get license for each state.Grrrr....Then went of couple of classes to get the road feel and left hand steer. After getting enough confidence, took friends car to drive around my place as practice.

Then the day was decided for the launch of road test. When I went out there, it was crowded and sunny. The examiner was keen in watching each and every movement of mine during the test. Everything was fine except the last piece. When a cross over to left alley came, I did not turn immediately and took extra time giving right of way for the vehicles coming in the other directions. During that moment another test vehicle came behind me and started honking. This made the situation bit tensed and I became the prey of it. I was told to redo the same some other day. Alas it wasn't my day :-( I decided immediately in mind that I have to get the license within a week at any cost. It pricked my ego and did not want to give it up.

Immediately within a couple of days went again for redoing the test. This time decided that at any turn I would not wait too long and take sharp cuts. I was having in mind I will get it, if not never going to apply. Everything went well and parked the car in the slot specified. Got down and the examiner called me for a moment. He said your turns were terrible [Ayiiigaa], apart from it everything is fine. Please try to do slow in turns. That’s it "Say cheese and a click".

One more thing I used to think, on traveling out of your home land. Since you are traveling long and you need to set things right, you would be trying to be focused on what you want and execute it. As well as back home, you would to settle down the things before you start. This makes you hassle free when you return back home. For example I was there at home for so many years never applied for a four wheeler license or thought about. When the necessity comes, under pressure made it out with in a week. Like wise your accounts, documents filing...everything would be set right by you. The same you which you would be always thinking to do, but when the time comes you do everything which could have been done much earlier slowly. But fine never late, my point was when you travel long, back at home you would make it a discipline one and also here which you are forced to do due to the essentials.

I have seen many persons writing, discussing on wordpress. Hence I decided to open an account there. It has really cool features and I am not going to do a analysis between blogger and wordpress. Each of it has its own merits. The new would be one more backup of my current blog. I can see that the page loading is quick as well as lots of options given in for add-ins. Let me put my hands and update more on it. For now here you go narsidude :-)

Monster House & Miami Vice

[Courtesy: imdb.com;Click snap for a blow up]

After a usual Friday, decided as usual to go for a movie at night. Along with friends went to Monster House in a 3D effect theatre. Wow! It was a great experience to watch the movie in 3D. I was really excited to watch the movie in this type of effect. Both the movie and the effects were amazing. I enjoyed every bit of the movie and the effect added the right mix to the animated movie.

D.J was the hero and the movie was about a haunted house. The animated character which took away everybody’s smile was chowder. He cracks funny dialogues and body movements. The moment I see him on the screen, started smiling and at times LOL:-) It was a well animated and scripted movie. The length of the movie wasn't big and was over by 90 minutes. So, we all came around by 10.50 pm to drive back. But suddenly one of them asked what are we going to do going back, there is one more movie to be showed in next five minutes, can we go for it?

This is called in Tamil as சு...கொ... We went back again to watch back to back movies. The next movie was Miami Vice. I wasn't aware of anything about the movie. But went just because it was a action movie and also in the above still from a long distance the guy in white background with coolers looked like thalaiver. But all came to end after sometime. The movie started with a storyline of underground guys and detectives. But slowly it dragged, dragged, dragged...Shucks, I was feeling what a mistake we did?

Except few action sequences and the climax, nothing was good. They come and go to get the belief of the cocaine smugglers that they are also smugglers. Then try to go the top level to catch him. It was similar to Kamalhasan Vikram movie with extraordinary build up. The way the hero walks was stylish and can be used for promos. Alas, the movie ended. Came out running and thanked to us that we did not go to this movie first. At least we saw one good movie.

THE RECRUIT

[Courtesy: imdb.com;Click snap for a blow up]

"NOTHING IS WHAT IT SEEMS" is the slogan for the movie THE RECRUIT. One more is “EVERYTHING IS A TEST”. It is a movie about a college guy selected and trained in the camp of CIA. The movie has thrilling plots which make the audience to be on their toes.

Personally, I was really charged after watching the movie. I couldn’t turn aside from the screen till the end. Each sequence was interesting and nail biting. Once again Al Pacino as Walter Burke occupies the movie completely. I am becoming a big time fan to this guy. The body language speaks for the character and the way he does as if its happening but "NOTHING IS WHAT IT SEEMS".

The hero Colin Farrell as James Douglas Clayton is enthusiastic and good to watch. Few places he would have done extremely well and some techie stuff surprises you. In a scene, the hero tries to hack the password of a system. I was blinking what is he going to do, but he started writing code in programming language in a high speed within a box where you can enter the password. Wow! Might be its not reality, but thought for a moment what am I doing ?!?!

The chasing sequences and the fast paced action of the hero add value to the movie. All other cast has done well and performs to what is needed. It was really a movie not to be missed. I like it the way...BTW am I writing about the movie? Nope! "NOTHING IS WHAT IT SEEMS"

Lady in the Water

[Courtesy: Wikipedia;Click snap for a blow up]

Manoj Night Shyamalan the Indian ace in direction of Hollywood movies is the captain of the movie Lady in the Water. Actually, I went out for Monster House but since the show timing was missed, half mindedly entered to watch this movie. The movie is a science fiction and dictates the whole story with an old bed time story. The play initially was really stretchy and found my self itchy. After some time you get the grip of it and was interesting to watch. The background score and the movie coupled well with each other and was some time breaking you. The sudden twists and the alien creature makes you bit frightened.

The whole movie was taken in an apartment set and I believe that the cost of making would be low. Few places Manoj could have taken care. Each time inside the apartment when somebody speaks the mike kept for live recording sneaks into the screen and it’s more visible. From a good director, these simple flaws have to be taken out as the movie is released all over the world. Apart from it the initial slow pace and kind of dramatical play, makes the audience bit bored. But the later part looked promising and surprises with its sequences.

Manoj himself has taken a role as Vick Ran and up on the screen. But he doesn't have much work. The main character was Paul Giamatti as Cleveland Heep and has extremely performed well. Few other comical characters make you to enjoy the movie. But it doesn’t drift from the main subject which happens in Tamil movies. It’s a good fantasy movie to watch which was shot within a single apartment set. Still makes an impact on the show.

More details on the movie here!

Bachelors Brave Attempt !!

[Courtesy: Narsidude; Click snap for a blow up]

Cooking, vessel cleaning and ironing are the most irritating jobs for a bachelor in US of (A). We bachelors tend to move away from these works. But to survive, cooking has to be done at any ways & means. Today, one of my room mate cooked smashed potatoes as subji. I went for just looking into and said a sentence as “this would be good for Poori than for rice”. Immediately the other room mate joined the club and all were geared up for the Poori project:-) This project is a massive investment of time, effort at the cost of our dinner. Any where any thing screws, it ends up as a loss for us. But finally we all came out with a smile on our face and felt we missed the champagne bottle for showering the victory. Wow! It was a delight to have such good dinner and when we all were about to forget the shape of Poori, it came in at right time ;-)

What's Happening?

Few months back I was talking to a friend about the information ban in China. I was very proud in saying our country in India doesn’t do any such things and preserves the individual rights. But was really surprised today to read that most of the ISPs in India are been advised to block *.blogspot, geocities and typepad blogs. It’s kind of feeling I get that this shouldn’t happen in India. Since, India is well established as a democratic country and upholds the right to speech\write. Most of the external collaborations have tremendous faith and glad on our rules.

If any such said as abuse of blog to vulnerable the country, it could have been done openly and every Indian definitely would come forward to block his own site to save the nation from any kind of attack. But this kind of said confidentiality creates more chaos and havoc with the people. The point for which it was done get diversified. Hope that everything would be settled down fast and it stands out again to prove the world as a true democratic country.

Movies This Week

[Courtesy: horror, newstodaynet; Click snap for a blow up]

It was thoroughly enjoyable weekend watching three movies of different genres. I was satisfied for this week hunger for watching movies.

Final Destination: I would top the list in the three movies. It was kind of movie where it makes you move to edge of your seat for each of the sequence. The movie is real fantastic one and well screen played. We would have seen in our dadha type movie, on how they plot a sketch to murder some one. In this movie they show how death plots sketch on the persons who escape from the pre-plotted massive killing sketch of itself. A fascinating movie to watch. Every sequence on the various plots is realistic and you can’t take away your eyes from them. It was an enjoyable horror movie to watch.

Insider: The next is Insider starring Al pacino and Russell. I was very much attracted to Al pacino after watching God Father. Here he has done a different role. It’s about a normal man under extraordinary pressure. It’s about the struggle between a business giant and a common man. Al pacino does a role of journalist and who gets into trouble helping the other man. The play was gratifying and makes you to feel to know what’s going to happen. But there is bit slowness in the screen play which sometimes makes you to drift away. But still Al pacino and the story holds you on till its curtain raiser.

Imsai Arasan 23am Pulikesi: The moment I was in the mid of the movie I felt it was very similar to "Enga Veetu Pillai". Where our Vadhyar would do the dual and one would be a coward and another would be strong\clever. The same here but instead of coward he has been shown for his foolishness. But definitely it is a good entertainer to watch and come out with a relax mind. Vadivelu is remarkable in his body language and dialogue delivery. All other cast had done a neat job. But pulikesi stands in our mind at the end of the movie. The director attempt to make this historical movie is appreciable and also to diverge from the routine stereo type of tamil movies.

Disgusting :-(

Recently I have posted two forwards as Cool Stuff's!! Right down, the below post. In it there is a funny picture on the expansion of the algebraic formula. I posted them and forgot about it. Next day, I was glimpsing over the new updates of idlyvadai and read the Modern algebra post. I was stunned for a moment, since he has claimed that the funny expansion was written by him during his school days and found in his old mathematics notebook. Shucks!! Also when I saw the picture he has cleverly cut the original displayed name in the picture to make it his own formula.

A blogger, who was appreciated for his updates on elections, writing and owning something which he isn't the owner, makes me to laugh at his childish behavior. In the event of making blog popular and writing events which did not happen makes me to say "Avarum oru satharana arasiyal vadhi thaan".

After writing a comment on the above in his post and asking his intentions, my comment wasn’t approved to publish. So thought I could use my space for it.

Original Picture here
Customized as Idlyvadai's here

Can this be classified as rogue blogging or plagiarism or what...?

Narsidude podcast go Live !!

It was my first attempt to podcast and was excited to do. I tried first using Audacity to make an mp3 file and then uploaded to a file server to use it in RSS. After writing an RSS, I validated it using a RSS validator. But I failed miserably with 14 errors. I thought some syntactical errors and rewrote the whole thing again with the help of web references. Again this time it was 18 errors, shoot it man!! I left it there.

With a ray of hope started searching my known blogs who has done a podcast already. Found the first podcast of lazygeek and the method sounded to me simple. So without thinking too much headed on towards the audioblogger. Hurray!!! Without much sweat landed here of going live :-)

this is an audio post - click to play

Cool Stuff's !

As all, I do get many forwards. In the recent one from one my colleagues the below two were interesting.
The expansion of the algebra formula was a funny one and this is what is thinking out of the box :-)
The next one shows the strengths’ of our Country.

Just Like That!

[Courtesy: nilashop.com]
One of my friends was insisting for past 2 weeks to watch Cho's Mohammad Bin Thuglak. He gave me the CD & told you will like it and bet for it. I wasn't sure and also not inclined to watch it. Just because he was favoring the movie and insisting me, I decided to watch it this weekend. I have a good feel on Cho's thought about politics and a big time fan when he speaks for an interview or a discussion. He smashes the opponent and tells with a confidence this is what the current politics and I like his way. Might be few times he would have slipped but still he impressed me in the way he talks strongly and the clarity of thought he has got in the political arena.

When the movie ended I just had one thing to say about him "WHAT A CLEAR AND FORETHOUGHT ON POLITICS". Wow! It was amazing to watch with the current political happenings in the mind. I believe, the movie had been released in early 1970 and in those early days the movie speaks about today’s politics. I liked the way he gets on to as prime minister and handles each of the cabinet meetings. It exactly resembles today’s politics and alas even more which are going to come in future. It’s an excellent movie to watch and want to give a loud applause for the movie & the director Cho. Well Done! Thanks to my friend to pass on a nice movie.

Another movie which I watched was Kodambakkam. The movie was good and loveable to watch for the simplicity in its screenplay. Jagan who was the director of Pudhiya geethai has directed this movie. I liked his Puthiya geethai and thought he would be yet another Perarasu. But in kodambakkam he has proved that he is different and narrated the story in a decent way. I think he has underplayed in some of the scene elucidating the troubles of a new director in kollywood. But he has done good amount of neat work and the movie is good to watch.

Correlation !

[Courtesy: mtv.com & indiaglitz.com]

This weekend I was entertaining myself with two movies. One is Click and the other is Pudupettai. According to my perception, there exists a relation between the themes of the movie. The bottom line of the two movies is what are lost in the event of urge to become a big shot in society. Both try to emphasize "Growing to a position at what cost?"

Click is a techy kind of movie where the director Frank Coraci tries to explain his thoughts with a fiction play. On the other hand in Pudupettai, Selvaraghavan tries to explain with a realistic play. Obviously both the movies aren't to compare but the theme taken by them were similar to my perception. Both are totally different geographically, culturally and the scope of play. Both of the directors have tried to visualize their story with slight hiccups at some places. But as a movie buff you would like to enjoy the movies. Nothing big different from earlier movies we have seen but still both the movies make you to watch the full length.

Adam Sandler as Michael Newman and Dhanush as 'Kokki' Kumar have done remarkably well and can add the movie to their good performance list. In few scenes Sandler definitely makes you feel very pity and gets into you, in the emotional situations. Dhanush might not be acceptable in the fight sequences, still as a character he is adorable to watch. Dhanush has really tried to do his best and as always done well under his brothers' direction.

All the other characters [actors] had given their firm support to provide the right mix in the movies. Yuvan Shankar has done good music but not to his best. In the earlier movies of Selvaraghavan, Yuvan had performed his class but in Pudupettai the music doesn't gets deep. The climax of Pudupettai could have been done in much better way. Might be the director was under the pressure to release the movie as it was lagging behind its scheduled release.

Both the characters in the two movies have resemblances in today's youngsters. It is for them to know what is lost in trying to get what they want in short span.

The Communicator

[Snap: Samsung.com]

Attire, time wristlets, shoes, purses, belts, bike acre few of the passionate items from early days. Later the Mobile phone got a firm place in the above list. First time I got Nokia 3210 as a gift and I still remember in that late night I roamed in the streets of Triplicane to get it activated. It’s a kind of memorable one which I was long lasting from my college days. After few months, I switched over to Nokia 6610 which I am having till now back in India. The great feature of 6610 was to play FM radio. I used to ride my bike for long distance from home to office, initial days was very sucking and used crib about the long ride. But later when I started using the 6610 model, I started enjoying the long biky. I used to continuously switch over to different channels using the hands free during the ride. That too when I place the helmet over my head phones, its like hearing music in a closed room. I just can't forget it; I feel like the whole world is for me and just zip around. Heavy traffic, late night what ever it is, I used to hear the music using the phone and damn care about the surroundings.

The sleek model and the black panel added more attraction. I was very much happy with what I had. Later days when my friends got camera phone and latest model, I was very much content with the model and never let it out from me.

Now after coming to Chicago, contact mode is one of the important aspects. Due to which I was looking out for a mobile. One of my friends caught hold of the deal with T-mobile and got the Samsung T-809 model. The moment I got the shipped parcel, I was gazing at this device. The phone is a sliding phone and has most of the good features. I am a new entrant to use Blue tooth which during my college days used to think as if it is some advanced automobile technology. The look of the model just amazes me and I always carry it as I have got something very precious for me. May me this lust ends after seeing something more good. But still this one can’t be forgotten. You can take a photo\video, copy songs, files & photos and listen to your favorite mp3 number where ever you go with good sound effect. The other features and the display design just take me away. I am hearing En Kadhale Kadhale from duet in my mobile, when pressing the publish button. En Kadhale..EnKadhale ennai enna saiya pogiray…

My whereabouts!

Time alters continuously and plays the vital transformations in everyone life. So do it had played on me and I am once again back in here for prospicient period. I do miss lots of stuff at my hometown and the mind wanders between the memories at hometown. This wasn't there until it was accepted and left the place. But once I landed here my thoughts flow back. This is ironical and totally confused cognition. But this simple mind doesn't accept and wanders again. Anyways to get something we need to give up, so trying to enjoy with what is present. In this land, time plays the vital role and everyone gives the top respect to time. Since at one place you slip out of time then its like a chain of reaction and all the rest move out of time. Time is the key for everything here.

The song UNAI KANDA MUDHAL from the movie Parijatham just dwells into my mind. The way the female singer sings makes me excited and happy. I have made it a point to listen at least once a day for sometime. The other film song which heads in my recent movie list is Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu. Partha Mudhal song by Bombay Jayshree, Unni Menon and Manjal Veyil by Hariharan & others are my latest top listing music. Harris Jeyaraj has played one of his good music to this film. Am eagerly waiting for the movie to launch.

This weekend I watched The shawshank redemption movie. I wasn't aware that it was one of the good movies or about the crew. I started watching late in the night and just kept on watching till the end. When I looked at the timepiece, it showed quarter past three in the morning. The screenplay made me to sit and keep going. There was a proper composition of things and there wasn't much deviation from the core subject. The jail scenes weren't exaggerated, and exactly in the boundary lines. Both the actors Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman did at their best. I was impressed and would add on to my all-time favorites list.

Query?

Run movie was telecasted in SUN TV. In the final comedy scene, actor Vivek would be wearing the in skirts of females and would dance making people to believe he is a saint. In that he would speak the dialogue “Mathavan paecha kekatha…pethavan paeacha kellu…summa irukatha…Amma thaan ellam…” In this dialogue “Amma thaan ellam…” was muted completely by SUN TV. If there is no relationship between politics and the channel, which is always said by the DMK leaders, why the hell for a dialogue which doesn’t even point to JJ is made soundless? It made to think cheap about the TV that it would not even telecast the word Amma. I think Amma is the only Tamil word SUN TV doesn’t like in Tamil language. Then I wonder what they call their mother at home. “MOM”, but place where the so called Tamil thatha lives, will he allow it?

In Vijay TV, when scenes in a movie have smoking or drinking, places a warning message. This is not at all done in any of SUN network TV. But they have taken precaution that Amma word in the dialogue is not shown. Because it says “Amma thaan ellam” which they think might influence people to vote her. What a shabby and ugly thinking! But they alone can relay all the negative happenings in the last five years in the name of special news in all the Tamil SUN channels. WOW! What a noble gesture:-) I am not supporter of any party. But they showcase as if they are doing only business and do all non sense. Can our “aAn pillai” answer to the above query?

Confusion or Comedy?

Theru koothu - 1

Kittu Mama --> Hello Susee Mami, Tamil Nadu is hot and the heat is making the people to run away.
Susee Mami --> Kittu, are you saying about the sun heat or the assembly elections in Tamil Nadu?
Kittu Mama --> Oh! You are sharp to understand what I meant. The political scenes are changing continuously. Like birds migrate geographically during season, the political people migrate between different parties. Not with the motto of serving people. Only to survive them self and reap the benefits for their descent.
Susee Mami --> Correct, its becoming so common and looks cheap in this stage of politics. Vaiko, shifting his tent from Gopalpuram to Poes Garden. Thriumavalavan moved to two leaves, since he wasn't looked by the rising sun. Sharath Kumar and great Radhika madam moving to madam party and TV:-) Bagyaraj joining DMK, Vijay.T.Rajendar who was trying for his entry into AIADMK suddenly remembered his guru and bagged up DMK in his campaign.
Kittu Mama --> Well said mami. Apart from it many tamil\non-tamil speaking film stars adding salt to DMK\AIADMK. But the star who said "Madam eye mela eye vechu solren..." escaped from scene. But I feel it’s a good move done by him.
Susee Mami --> Yes kittu, if he does or speak anything it becomes an unnecessary hyped topic and feeds more papers to the press.
Kittu Mama --> Looking at the parties’ election promises makes to think us are we heading in the right direction? Are the people in Tamil Nadu requiring free items and low priced rice? Apart from it do they not need anything else? How many years the parties give the promise of low priced rice. Then does it means that we haven't grown at all? People still require some one to give free items for their living? It’s a shame to see these repeated promises for so long years.
Susee Mami --> Not only these, the way the TV channels advertise for their respective parties make us feel awkward. In one of the ad one girl ask her dad, when would we have food? Immediately the father says once the rising sun comes to throne. Does each family head take care of their children or not? Only after rising sun comes we would have food? All these makes as if the people are fools.
Kittu Mama --> Instead of making these promises, they can say that they would initiate a new industry and employ 2000 unemployed youths, they can say they would bring the commodities easy available and provide loan for self-employment. All these make not only more employments, also builds the Tamil Nadu into a fast paced developing state. They can swear to provide good infrastructures to the people. All these mutually build the people and the state.
Susee Mami --> Tamil Nadu politics becoming lower graded and dipping down the graph. The leaders should understand the current trends and make decisions thinking globally.
Kittu Mama --> Seri mami, its time for me to go to work. I would join with you later. Kelambrendima!!
Susee Mami --> Kittu...curd rice pack panni vechuruken...Nalla sapittu. Okava.

Headache:-(

Recently after Kalvanin Kadhali another third rated movie I watched is Patchai Kudhirai. Basically I feel this movie can be classified as a Shakila type movie or movies like Oor Iravu, Antharangal of that sort. Movie had titles of Parthiban, Nametha and so on. Parthiban when he made the title card as written and directed by Ra.Parthiban would have felt bit disgusted.

His earlier movie Kodaikul Mazhai, he said in the trailer "Intha madhiri miyir kochariyum katchigal illai but ana neenga rasipeenga". When I saw the movie, I felt saying like Vadivelu "Un kitta opening ellam nalla thaan iruku ana pinishing seri illayae pa". I heard that after the failure of the above movie he decided to give masala type movie. Ulle Veliya was also a movie which would provide a wrong direction for aspiring creators. But still the movie had some good amount of comedy making you to feel bit comfortable. This movie more than relying in his thoughts and making, he has completely surrendered himself to Nametha.

Nametha, she has taken the lead role in the movie. The whole movie completely rely on her and for which she has given her best with what she can. The boundaries are crossed and nothing is under control. This is what I can say on her. Parthiban to make Patchai Kudhirai a success has given the Arabian Kudhirai a great show.

In spite of all this hungama, there is a small message from the so called creator. The message is servicing to the people in need without publicity. Vare vaa...one and only Parthiban can do it. Again a cyco kind of character. Kodaikul Mazhaiku apprum once again. Ayyo thalai ellam suthuthu. My opinion is Parthiban has lost his creativity. He wants to now succeed and has taken the safer third class approach.

I thought of not writing on this movie but wanted to caution my readers. Movie pathrapuram, review ezhuthunupuram headache thara ore padam Patchai Kudhirai. Intha padathuku, intha peru empaa vechanaanga...puriyaleye..Thalai vali started.
